WHAT DO YOU DO?
WHAT STEPS DID YOU TAKE TO GET TO WHERE YOU ARE NOW?
I wholeheartedly believe that the dots connect looking backwards because of all the various twists and turns my career has taken me on. No matter how off path, each random job experience prepared me for a skill I would have needed later on. I went to college for fashion design, received a degree in broadcasting communications all the while freelancing for my professor's friends as a social media editor. I've worked in startups and enjoyed the cushy corporate life. I've been behind the scenes in public relations and on the front lines in sales. The biggest thing I've learned is to not put myself in a box and that life has seasons. I take pride in snowballing in all the little things I've learned into hard and soft skills and that gives me confidence that I can take on any project!
How do you stand out in your field?
I take great care in researching the industry and learning the lingo of the brands I'm working with. Being detail-oriented and having an eye for design helps too!
WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON RIGHT NOW?
I am currently working with a few different companies in different sectors on their social presence - tech, florals, and the cannabis industry.
WHAT'S YOUR STYLE/PERSPECTIVE/TASTE? DO YOU HAVE A PROJECT THAT REPRESENTS THIS?
I love to work with color blocking and blending. Over the years I've come up with a formula for posting that ensures brands are engaging and communicating with the various types of followers they have.
WE ARE ALL SLASHIES WITH MULTIPLE SKILLS, WHICH ONE DO YOU WISH YOU COULD DO MORE OFTEN?
My goal this year is to develop more UX skills so I can also offer that to my clients.
WHAT IS FRUSTRATING YOU RIGHT NOW?
Freelance life is always a grind. I've been focusing a lot on my client's work and I'd really like to have a moment to sit back and work on my personal blog/portfolio or my business social channels. Sometimes they feel frozen in time because they are last on the list.
IF YOU COULD HIRE SOMEONE FOR $20/HR, WHAT WOULD YOU HAVE THEM DO TO MAKE YOUR DAY EASIER?
I would hire them to engage, engage, engage on social. Literally sit, like and comment to build followings.
LET'S BRING OUT THE TIME MACHINE. WHAT DO YOU WISH YOU COULD HAVE TOLD YOURSELF, WHEN, AND WHY?
I wish I could have told myself when switching majors back in college to take a longer look at web design! That would be a lot more helpful for me today instead of the ability to read a teleprompter.
IF YOU COULD TALK TO AN EXPERT TO GAIN MORE INSIGHT ON SOMETHING, WHAT WOULD IT BE ABOUT?
I would like to talk to someone that has been through multiple rebrands for their company to understand when they thought they "got it right", when they didn't, and how they decided to restructure. Experience is everything!
WHAT KIND OF OPPORTUNITIES/PROJECTS ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?
I prefer to work in projects so that I can dive deep into something, learn it, fix it and then teach my clients all about it. I love rebranding Instagram and Pinterest profiles - visuals are fun!
DESCRIBE YOUR IDEAL JOB/CLIENT/COLLABORATION.
I've always loved working with B2C clients to showcase thoughtful products or services! When I was working at Pottery Barn in social media and PR it was always so fun to tap into the seasons because it humanizes a brand.
WHAT IS YOUR HOURLY RATE, RETAINER, OR SALARY RANGE?
$50/hour, but I prefer to work on a project basis. Overall pricing depends on what needs attention. Do you need someone to simply post? Create a content calendar? Engage? How many platforms? Let's discuss!
HOW SHOULD SOMEONE APPROACH YOU ABOUT WORKING TOGETHER?
Email me! Tell me what you need help with and what your budget is. I'm happy to create different packages based on deliverables!
HOW DO YOU STAY CREATIVE?
