Q What do you do?
“I’m a freelance creative. I do things such as graphic design, social media management, and creative direction.”
In graphic design I specialize in making social assets and email marketing. I love working with brands who align with me aesthetically for social media management to help grow their engagement and account reach. My favorite things is when a client is looking for both graphic design and social media management and then we can really dive deep into creating a cohesive social media presence.
Q What steps did you take to get to where you are now?
I’m completely self taught, COVID really helped me grow my skills and business. I had the opportunity to get some absolutely amazing internships thanks to everything going remote and have also had the opportunity to work with some amazing clients remotely too. I got my first internship with The Mayfair Group and really got to learn and grow from all of their talented designers. Since then I’ve worked with brands such as VibeSzn, Rumours, Facebar, LOOPS Beauty, SoAddicted Beauty, and more.
Q How do you stand out in your field?
I think I stand out in my field because I really try to work with clients to have graphic design and social media go hand in hand for a really elevated brand presence. I love really getting to know the people I’m working with to make sure that we are achieving their goals and love working together to always be striving for better.
Q What are you working on right now?
Right now I’m working with Facebar as their creative director, we are developing the brand so that we can take it to having multiple locations. In addition to this I work with brands doing freelance as well and I’m always looking for new clients to work with!
Q What’s your style?
My style is very elevated, minimalistic, and a little bit edgy. I try to reflect my personal brand style on my Instagram. But I love working with brands of all styles. Having worked with different brands in the industry and helping create social assets and engaging content I’ve come to appreciate a lot of different aesthetics.
Q Out of all your slashies, which one do you wish you could do more often?
Over the past 6 months I’ve been focusing heavily on social media but I would really love to dive back into working with clients for graphic design work creating social assets is always so fun to me and it’s really where I got starting in the industry was graphic design. I love working in social but graphic design definitely has a special place in my heart. Combining the two is my favorite place to be.
Q What is frustrating you right now?
The bottom of my To Do list is always posting on my own socials. I always am getting behind on posting for my own accounts even though I want to get them to grow.
Q If you could hire someone for $20/hour, what would you have them do to make your day easier?
I would have them help with scouting potential clients + help me with posting consistently on my socials! I have some interns right now who help me with some of these things and I hope to bring on a paid assistant soon.
Q What do you wish you could have told yourself, when, and why?
Wow I would love to bring out a time machine and talk to my high school self. I would have told myself to stay creative, that you will have opportunities you’d never even dreamed of and to keep going. Seeing myself now with where I am and the amazing brands I’ve worked with, people I know, and the opportunities I’ve had, I would have NEVER imagined I’d get this far. I’d tell myself that you are going to manifest your dreams.
Q If you could talk to an expert to gain more insight on something, what would it be about?
I LOVE learning! I am super excited to be hopefully taking some of Puno’s classes here on Ilovecreatives and I also love reaching out to a mentor of mine Lauren Grier whenever I have questions. Being a creative I feel like you are always learning new things.
Q What kind of opportunities/projects are you looking for?
I’m always looking for new clients to work with! I typically try to look for long term clients so that we can really grow together. I also would love to hop on someone’s team as a full time employee!
Q Describe your ideal job/client/collaboration.
I absolutely love working closely with clients. I want to make your vision come true by working hand in hand together. I’m a really organized person (thanks Trello) so I love a client who is also organized and can give me feedback, approval, or changes in a timely manner.
Q: What is your rate?
Graphic Design + Social Media Management packages typically start at $1,200, however it changes based on the amount of social assets needs and how many days a week posting will be. I also have à la carte prices for let’s say if you just need graphic design, SMM, engagement, creative direction, and more.
