WHAT DO YOU DO?

I design brands, packaging, and websites for creative businesses.

I am the founder and creative director of Grandview Collective, a boutique design studio that specializes in brand identities and web design for creative entrepreneurs.

WHAT STEPS DID YOU TAKE TO GET TO WHERE YOU ARE NOW?

After 8 years working for various companies in the marketing and design department, I opened my own creative studio where I get to collaborate with some amazing people all over the world. My clients have incredible goals and it fuels me to be able to partner with them on building the brand of their dreams through messaging and design!

How do you stand out in your field?

I provide high-quality brand identity design and graphic design for entrepreneurs and small businesses. My favorite part of each project is the beginning stage where we work together to uncover the qualities that make the business unique and stand apart from their competitors. I believe in a collaborative relationship with clear communication to execute a memorable and successful brand experience.

WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON RIGHT NOW?

Right now I’m working on branding and website design for a wellness & events business, two photographers, a skincare company, a subscription box company, a local women's boutique, an online ministry and a couple other smaller projects. It’s a busy time and I wouldn’t have it any other way!

WHAT'S YOUR STYLE/PERSPECTIVE/TASTE? DO YOU HAVE A PROJECT THAT REPRESENTS THIS?

I have a minimalistic style, but love to push the boundaries and explore new concepts. My website and instagram are a good representation of my style.

WE ARE ALL SLASHIES WITH MULTIPLE SKILLS, WHICH ONE DO YOU WISH YOU COULD DO MORE OFTEN?

I would love to experiment more with illustrations on Procreate. I hope to get a new iPad and Apple Pencil soon to be able to explore some new techniques.

WHAT IS FRUSTRATING YOU RIGHT NOW?

Client outreach and admin work! Keeping my portfolio up to date and reaching out to potential clients always falls to the back burner. I also need to make some time each month to focus on my business - write blog posts, add templates to the shop, schedule social media, put together an email newsletter.

IF YOU COULD HIRE SOMEONE FOR $20/HR, WHAT WOULD YOU HAVE THEM DO TO MAKE YOUR DAY EASIER?

Admin work! All of the behind the scenes work that takes up time- packaging assets, social media management.

LET'S BRING OUT THE TIME MACHINE. WHAT DO YOU WISH YOU COULD HAVE TOLD YOURSELF, WHEN, AND WHY?

To just remember to pace myself and take things one day at a time. I get so excited and want to do so many things, but this just causes overwhelm. I am trying to work through my ongoing checklist one thing at a time!

IF YOU COULD TALK TO AN EXPERT TO GAIN MORE INSIGHT ON SOMETHING, WHAT WOULD IT BE ABOUT?

I really would love to talk with an expert about growing my business.

WHAT KIND OF OPPORTUNITIES/PROJECTS ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?

I am always looking for exciting new brand identity projects - from restaurants, food and beverage brands to interior design and wellness brands. I love connecting with clients who have a strong passion for growing their own business.

DESCRIBE YOUR IDEAL JOB/CLIENT/COLLABORATION.

My ideal project would be a full design project for a restaurant or cafe. The client would ideally be a local business that I can meet in person and work together in bringing their business to life.

HOW SHOULD SOMEONE APPROACH YOU ABOUT WORKING TOGETHER?

My preferred method of communication is via email - along with a scope of your project needs, a little bit about you and why you're passionate about your business!

HOW DO YOU STAY CREATIVE?

Getting away from the computer and taking a walk with my dog, reading, cooking, crafting jewelry or knitting - anything hands on!
