Q What do you do?

I am a web designer and creative.

I make and build websites and I like to create art, write and draw too. Depending on how and where you meet me – you’ll get to know different sides of me.

Q What steps did you take to get to where you are now?

Devotion to my evolution as a soul here on Earth 🌎. I believe we’re all creators and that we’re here to play, express, and reinvent ourselves.
I’ve always loved drawing and painting when I was a kid. Even though my interests shift depending on my chapter, I’m still the same girl who gets giddy over doing something creative… it’s the thrill of being in flow for me.

Q How do you stand out in your field?

By being myself :)

Q What are you working on right now?

I am doing some freelance design work while TA’ing a web design course.

Q What’s your style?

Dreamy, minimal and otherworldly. Think: Studio Ghibli mixed with Lord of the Rings and a dash of Harry Potter. I love creating worlds within worlds.
In this recent spec project for Tea at Shiloh, I created a website that draws on their ethereal aesthetic while adding my appreciation for space and book design to it.

Q Out of all your slashies, which one do you wish you could do more often?

The personal development and self-education industry! We all have a “skill” that feels so natural and true to us, and for me, that would be self-reflection and sharing insights. Being introspective is just naturally who I am and it’d be awesome to establish myself in that industry.

Q What is frustrating you right now?

Probably just uncertainty of the future.

Q If you could hire someone for $20/hour, what would you have them do to make your day easier?

Establishing a social media presence or brand. I love going on people’s social media or Instagram to get to know them but I don’t have one for myself.

Q What do you wish you could have told yourself, when, and why?

You’ll feel a lot better if you feel your emotions rather than suppressing them. Fear, anger and grief are also expressions of your love. You don’t have to be perfect. It’s a wonderful thing to express your needs and wants even if that results in change.

Q If you could talk to an expert to gain more insight on something, what would it be about?

Oooh - I wouldn't mind chatting with filmmakers, authors, or creators about their creative inspirations over 🍵 a cup of hot tea and a little snackie. How did they make the thing they made? What was their journey like? Was it difficult to share themselves with the world? I'd love to know.

Q What kind of opportunities/projects are you looking for?

I’d like to dabble in web design more and work with brands or artists to create their visual identity and personality. It would also be fun to do some writing – honestly, I’m open to any possibility!

Q Describe your ideal job/client/collaboration.

I love working with open-minded people who are inquisitive, compassionate and have many ideas. I enjoy co-creating with people who see work as not “work” but rather an opportunity to create a shared, meaningful experience.

Q What is your rate?

A website design typically starts at $2,000 but it depends on the scope of your project and what we’re bringing to life. If you feel drawn to co-create together, let’s chat to work out the details.

Q How should someone approach you about working together?

Fill out this contact form on my website or email me suki@chansuki.com with your project idea, budget and details.

Q Who is a creative you admire?

I adore Alison Roman - she’s a chef and makes these hilarious home movies. Her recipes are yummy and there’s just something about her that is so healing.

Q Oh! and… how do you stay creative?

See life as a creation.
