WHAT DO YOU DO?
I have the pleasure of working with Creative Agencies, Models, Magazines, Influencers, and Brands.
WHAT STEPS DID YOU TAKE TO GET TO WHERE YOU ARE NOW?
Every time I took a photo of someone they would tell me "this is the best photo i've ever seen of myself" I would rent cameras from my college and would shoot with my friends for fun. I wanted a place to post the photos so I started @syduals on Instagram. I loved it and kept producing work and would plan shoots constantly then people started reaching out and hiring me for jobs. I realized that this is something I am passionate about and can succeed in. I created my website, started my business, and now am a Professional Photographer taking every opportunity I have.
How do you stand out in your field?
My style of photography and my execution sets me apart. I don't just focus on one specific look, I shoot Fashion, Events, Products, Portraits, etc. and can capture amazing images in all settings.
WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON RIGHT NOW?
I just finished a photography book! Its called EVOKE. It's a coffee table book displaying the beauty of the female form with revolutionary lighting. Influencing women to feel confident and powerful naked.
WHAT'S YOUR STYLE/PERSPECTIVE/TASTE? DO YOU HAVE A PROJECT THAT REPRESENTS THIS?
I have always loved art + design and draw most of my inspiration through fashion. I love capturing raw emotion and want my photos to make you feel something when you look at them.
WE ARE ALL SLASHIES WITH MULTIPLE SKILLS, WHICH ONE DO YOU WISH YOU COULD DO MORE OFTEN?
I want to focus all of my attention on Fashion/Event photography!
WHAT IS FRUSTRATING YOU RIGHT NOW?
Scammers!!! As I get more exposure I am getting contacted for fake jobs that appear to look real but then they ask me personal information, I don't give in to it but it is very frustrating. Be aware of this!
IF YOU COULD HIRE SOMEONE FOR $20/HR, WHAT WOULD YOU HAVE THEM DO TO MAKE YOUR DAY EASIER?
I would actually love to have an assistant. Someone booking my shoots, handling paperwork/contracts/emails, etc.
LET'S BRING OUT THE TIME MACHINE. WHAT DO YOU WISH YOU COULD HAVE TOLD YOURSELF, WHEN, AND WHY?
I would have told myself to start shooting right after high school, because the more I shoot the better I get.
IF YOU COULD TALK TO AN EXPERT TO GAIN MORE INSIGHT ON SOMETHING, WHAT WOULD IT BE ABOUT?
I want to ask what advice they have about this profession and industry, what camera they prefer, and how they got to where they are.
WHAT KIND OF OPPORTUNITIES/PROJECTS ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?
Fashion/Editorial, Beauty, Events.
DESCRIBE YOUR IDEAL JOB/CLIENT/COLLABORATION.
I love working with people who are driven and passionate about what they do. It would be very ideal to start shooting for major luxury brands campaigns. That is the ultimate goal, I want to see my work in the world.
WHAT IS YOUR HOURLY RATE, RETAINER, OR SALARY RANGE?
It depends and I am flexible but typically I charge $150 an hour for Events or a campaign.
