Q What do you do?
I write catchy punchlines and publish posts, so you don’t have to!
Q What steps did you take to get to where you are now?
While I was in my last semester of college, I started looking for social media internships. I had difficulty finding any on Glassdoor or LinkedIn without employers wanting you to already have two years of experience. So, instead, I reached out to freelancers who could give me first-hand experience.
Q How do you stand out in your field?
I’m the only person from my town who’s decided to make a living doing something unconventional to people here. My experience is interesting. For years I worked as a retail worker, waitress, and barista. Then I quickly jumped into writing blog posts, creating content for Instagram, and learning how to write unique copy before graduating college. Most people don’t gain experience until after graduation. I was so eager to start my career that I began looking for three years before graduating.
Q What are you working on right now?
At the moment, I’m a social media and events coordinator for a painting studio, so I’m managing projects for them. I’m currently revising pieces I’ve written and abandoned after graduation.
Q What’s your style?
The first half of this Pinterest board represents my style
This video by Damon Dominique represents where I want to be with my creative
Q Out of all your slashies, which one do you wish you could do more often?
I wish I could concentrate on my videography and screenwriting skills. I desperately want to find a mentor.
Q What is frustrating you right now?
The lack of work is frustrating me the most, and not being able to decide on which business card design I like the most. Oh, and I can’t forget about the pile of unfolded laundry sitting on my dresser. That’s a pain too.
Q If you could hire someone for $20/hour, what would you have them do to make your day easier?
I would have them take care of my household chores, like cleaning and folding laundry. Maybe have them wash my car (it hasn’t been cleaned in a year. My car used to be white. Emphasis on "used to be")
Q What do you wish you could have told yourself, when, and why?
I would have told myself to break up with my boyfriend and apply to every job/internship opportunity despite my lack of experience. I’ve missed out on jobs and experiences because I was obsessed with my boyfriend or I was too anxious to apply to a job, internship, scholarship, etc.
Q If you could talk to an expert to gain more insight on something, what would it be about?
Letting go of being anxious about how others perceive you and your work.
Q What kind of opportunities/projects are you looking for?
I want more film/video and writing projects to add to my portfolio. Preferably opportunities I can develop new skills and collaborate with my clients.
Q Describe your ideal job/client/collaboration.
I would love to have clients who work in the film, television, performing arts, and music industries. It’s nice to work with people who share the same interests. I haven’t had a client who enjoys those things, but I still had a positive experience with them despite our differences.
Q: What is your rate?
My current rate is $35-$40/hr. If I’m managing social media pages and creating content, I’ll do:
1 Account
8 Posts/mo
Social Engagement
Daily Story Posting
Create Caption/Write Copy
$250/mo
2 Accounts
16 posts/mo

Q How should someone approach you about working together?
They can contact me through email with a brief description of their business, budget, and what they need. I would also love them to send my one silly fact or anecdote about themselves.
Q Who is a creative you admire?
Alexia Montgomery, she offered me my first social media internship. I learned everything there is to know about creating graphics, writing captions, and curating hashtags from her. I'm grateful for having her take a chance on me and teach me the ins and outs of digital marketing.
Q Oh! and… how do you stay creative?
