Anima Alignment

Anima Alignment:

Trauma Informed Medical Massage + Bodywork

Los Angeles, CA

Anima Alignment was founded by Jillian Egan, whose therapeutic practice originates in her passion for dance. She has trained as a contemporary modern and ballet dancer for over 20 years, performing on a professional level in NYC and LA.

As a dancer, she gained a deep understanding of the body, its possibilities and its capacity to heal. Jillian approaches each person with an empathetic practice that hears the narrative of their health journey as well as the story their body communicates.

A graduate of the medical massage program at SOCHI, her treatment method is a customized integrated approach using a range of techniques. Sessions are always customized to the individual client and their needs in the present moment but may include modalities such as Swedish massage, deep tissue, neuromuscular therapy, sports massage, joint mobilization, PNF/PIR, myofascial, Gua sha, and trigger point therapy, as well as Eastern philosophical connections to mindfulness and the energetic body. Jillian has also completed training in an Alignment Therapy method through mentorship with Juliet Maris, LMT in NYC, that focuses on the elimination of somatic holding patterns via physical, emotional, and energetic alignment.

She is familiar with issues relative to hypermobility and repetitive stress through her experience working with professional dancers (Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre) and is passionate about helping people find their way out of chronic pain. In addition to manual therapy, Jillian also offers movement therapy as a certified Pilates instructor, having completed a comprehensive training with Polestar Pilates whose mission is working with any and every body, as well as Pilates for rehabilitation.

Jillian is committed to offering others a pathway to their healthiest self by empowering them through self-awareness, facilitating balance and stability, and helping to eliminate inefficient postural and movement patterns.
