Body in Bloom: Spring in Andros

Body in Bloom

Spring in Andros

Andros, Greece

Experience Greece in bloom. Awaken your senses and dive into a world of natural beauty with us as we explore fields of herbs and flowers on Andros. This women's-only retreat is designed to help you awaken into spring, just like Persephone, after a long winter. With an emphasis on cyclical living, local herbs, and food (we'll forage and visit a farm), and intuitive movement, it's designed to leave you feeling inspired and balanced.

During the retreat, we'll stay in private, historic villas, one of which has won an architecture award, and another is a restored 200-year-old manor house. The villas will serve as the backdrop for our workshops and movement classes.

Meet your hosts:

Maria Kovoros (Raging Nice Lady) is a passionate advocate for women's health and holistic well-being, known for her multifaceted approach to empowering women and girls to take control of their bodies and menstrual cycles. Rooted in her diverse background, Maria's journey weaves together her expertise as an educator, holistic health coach, hormone health guide, women's health educator, and her past life as a dancer.

Her mission is to educate, inspire, and guide women in understanding and embracing their unique physiology.

Maria's holistic approach encompasses a range of healing modalities, from subconscious reprogramming and mindset work to cycle-syncing, diet and lifestyle adjustments, somatic work, tapping, and meditation. Drawing on her Greek heritage for inspiration, she seamlessly incorporates principles from Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese medicine into her practice, guiding women toward balanced and harmonious cycles.

As a holistic health coach, Maria specializes in helping women overcome period problems and transform their monthly experience into a nearly painless and empowering cycle. Her goal is to be a trusted source of support, wisdom, and transformation in the lives of countless women seeking a deeper connection with their bodies and a greater sense of well-being. She’ll guide you to know your period, and subsequently know yourself.

Kristina Headrick (Yia Mas founder) : Yia Mas was founded by Greek American Kristina Maria Headrick. After witnessing the effects of Greece's devastating financial crisis on friends and family, Kristina felt compelled to share more about the country's culture and support Greece by bringing Greek wellness products to America.

Yia Mas marries Kristina's Greek upbringing with her research on Greek philosophy, dance, design, and culture. Kristina's curiosity and appreciation for self-inquiry inspire her to share Greek folk remedies and ancient traditions and promote Greece beyond the usual diaspora narrative.

Kristina holds a degree in history from the University of Virginia. She has extensive experience studying yoga and meditation (200-hour RYT, 100-hour meditation teacher training with Nalanda Institute of Contemplative Science, 75-hour training with Katonah Yoga, and the Mentorship program at Sky Ting Yoga in NYC). With a background in writing and digital marketing, her work attempts to bridge the gap between our increasingly digital realities and tactile experiences. She balances digital work with teaching movement and meditation, including in corporate and co-working space settings in New York City.
