OVERVIEW

CARVINGBLOCK is seeking a Video Editor (Contract) to support our content team in shaping dynamic, social-first storytelling.

Inspired by art, culture, and fashion, this role is dedicated to transforming raw footage into intentional editorial edits that reflect our creative standards and point of view.

From fast-paced reels to atmospheric brand moments, the Video Editor will bring clarity, rhythm, and restraint to each edit elevating content through thoughtful pacing, color, and sound. The ideal candidate has an editorial eye, a strong grasp of color grading and sound design, and a passion for creating work that feels current, considered, and elevated.

This is a highly collaborative role suited for an editor who thinks creatively, not just operationally.


RESPONSIBILITIES

Editing & Post-Production

  • Edit video content optimized for Instagram, TikTok, Reels, and YouTube/Vimeo with a clear narrative and point of view.

  • Apply color correction and grading for a clean, consistent, and elevated look.

  • Balance and clean audio to ensure clarity and quality.

  • Add light graphics, captions, and titles as needed to enhance storytelling.

Revisions & Delivery

  • Deliver platform-ready video edits aligned with CARVINGBLOCK's creative direction.

  • Provide up to 2 rounds of revisions per project.

  • Additional revisions beyond two rounds billed at $150 flat per round.

  • Typical turnaround for edits is 3-5 business days, unless otherwise agreed.

Creative Collaboration

  • Partner closely with the CARVINGBLOCK Studios.

  • Update responsibilities on a monthly basis to align with new campaigns and priorities.

  • Bring a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset to each project.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve.

  • Strong skills in color grading and audio balancing.

  • Experience editing content specifically for social media platforms.

  • Ability to work efficiently with quick turnarounds.

  • Detail-oriented with an editorial eye for pacing, style, and storytelling.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

  • A portfolio that demonstrates creative and polished social-first video work.


COMPENSATION:

  • Day Rate: $400-$500 per day, based on project scope.

  • Weekly Engagement: 3-4 days per week.

  • Additional Days: Any extra day outside the agreed schedule will be billed at the standard day rate.

  • Revisions: 2 rounds included; additional rounds of editing billed $30/hour.
