Freelance & Remote (Los Angeles a plus) — Monthly Retainer
ilovecreatives is seeking a Freelance Content Strategist to build relatable, fun, and educational content for our website, but mostly social (Instagram and Pinterest).
We're looking 👀 for a self-taught slashie that can execute their vision autonomously and is hungry for feedback.
This role is for someone with confident copywriting skills, experience in content production and execution, reliable organizational skills, a process and detail-oriented work style, a pro-active communication style (let’s get to the point and minimize meetings), and of course, a great sense of humor!
What You'll Do:
Build our Editorial vertical. You’ll take full ownership of the strategy, content direction, copywriting, video production and anything else you dream up to get more eyeballs on creatives and their work.
Interview for, research, and write a mix of educational and lifestyle articles, driving leads for our paid courses.
Create promotional social media posts and website assets that funnel back to these articles.
Day-to-day management of Instagram as it pertains to editorial. Organize the grid, write captions, chat with our community, all that good stuff. 👍
Light graphic design, photo editing, and video editing.
Manage project scope, contractor support, and budgets.
Requirements:
Experience working in Editorial (digital or print)
We're looking for a storyteller with a strong visual POV and vision, who can take a concept and run with it.
Understanding of the current social media landscape and practices (Reels, Video, TikTok).
Organizational and file management skills. 📁 We need to be able to jump into whatever project you're working on and be able to find things easily.
Comfortable with little direction. ➡️ We want you to take it and go! While in the beginning there will be some training on our workflow, we're looking for someone that is confident and self-motivated.
OK working solo 🤗 You’ll get support from Puno, our Art Director and some contractors, but this job is mostly you! Think of ilovecreatives as one big house — and wah! you get your own floor. Design as you wish, just mind the construction noise.
You 💖 Feedback. We work iteratively and believe in immediate feedback. You're someone that has a high EQ and implements feedback quickly or will communicate succinctly what is blocking you.
Experience with:
Experience using Descript, Notion, Squarespace and Google File Stream.
Design (we use Figma, Photoshop, and Illustrator)
Photography
Video Editing and Production
Affiliate partnerships
Digital marketing and paid advertising experience a plus!
Who this isn’t for:
Someone that is used to working somewhere they get a lot of support and structure. Think of us more like a collective of experienced freelancers that get things done.
If you’ve never worked on your own, haven’t had experience managing a lot of tasks, and are not sure how to prioritize ideas — this probably isn’t for you.
