Polly Wales

is looking for a Sales Account Manager

Los Angeles, CA

Polly Wales is a design house that believes in making one-of-a-kind objects of celebration, to put it simply. Not only are we a collective looking to push the limits of our craft, but we’re setting out to evolve the language and perception of what fine jewelry can be.

Why You’d Want To Be On Our Team

Much like this sales role, very little is traditional here at Polly Wales. Our work environment and approach to making can be attributed to our punk-ethos and renegade spirit. Both our downtown L.A. office and our Highland Park workshop welcome people who are eager to do things differently; we believe we’re best when we make our own rules and then break them.

Collectively, we seek adventure. At the end of the day, we’re a team of incredibly talented folks taking calculated risks and conquering really fulfilling challenges together—bound by our love of providing others with joy.

At Polly Wales, we are committed to achieving a representative, equitable, and inclusive workplace. We believe that the best work results from a team with diverse backgrounds and lived experiences—and we encourage all individuals, regardless of race, ethnicity, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, ability, religion, or other defining characteristics to apply.

The Role

You don’t shy away from who you are and you encourage others to follow suit. You’re not someone who wants to move massive volumes of product hastily—you’re a bit of a unicorn in that you work intentionally and with your own magical flair. You don’t sell for selling's sake: you expertly juggle client desires with the understanding that each Polly Wales piece needs to be a well-considered sale that pushes our craft. At your core, you deeply value and nurture relationships—be it within our walls or with our clients. You’re a model team player who always actively listens and responds instead of quickly reacting. You think outside the box—constantly pushing the Polly Wales brand further by thinking about new and innovative ways to engage with our customers. You’re flexible and dynamic, eager to stretch and grow in parallel with the business itself. If you were working for us, here are some of the things you would have done in the last few months:

(Wholesale-specific)

  • Budget, forecast, and plan activities in line with the wholesale strategy

  • Manage all day-to-day wholesale inquiries, orders, and shipments

  • Assist in the preparation of the open-to-buy for each selling campaign through the analysis of historical data

  • Build positive relationships and maintain excellent communication with buyers to make sure collections are properly represented and expectations are exceeded

  • Work with production, operations, and finance teams to ensure delivery deadlines are met

  • Monitor incoming payments, issue account statements

  • Present production with feedback from buyers, in order to identify growth opportunities

(Retail-specific)

  • Nurture and grow direct retail client sales by deepening existing relationships and acquiring new customers

  • Manage day-to-day retail inquiries, orders, and shipments

  • Host private appointments at our showroom and quarterly pop-ups with warmth, knowledge, and authenticity

  • Analyze sales data to identify our customers’ needs and shape our approach to customer service

  • Synthesize technical information about the Polly Wales processes to carefully guide customers on our unique methods and aesthetic with the goal of inspiring excitement, trust, and ultimately converting sales

  • Shape marketing plans to drive sell-through, brand awareness, and elevate sales initiatives

Key Qualities

  • Minimum 3 year’s experience in a sales role, ideally for a luxury lifestyle brand

  • Proficiency in Excel, Google Sheets, and other similar software

  • A keen ability to handle and prioritize multiple requests simultaneously

  • An expert team player and a flexible, creative thinker

  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational and time management skills

  • An air of warmth, professionalism, patience, and focus

  • Flexibility to travel when needed

Relationships

  • Reports to Sales Manager

  • Collaborates with other Sales Team members on e-commerce, retail, and wholesale efforts

  • Communicates with Production Team on information relevant to sales efforts

Benefits

Our philosophy can be traced back to the United Kingdom in the 90s where Polly spent her youth submerged in the national counter-culture movement and rave scene. Not only was this a time of social and political upheaval, but it was one of unabashed creative freedom. Creative freedom only exists where love and care does—which is why it’s of utmost importance to us to offer competitive salaries with 401k options, employer-sponsored health care, paid time off, paid holidays, flexibility in work schedule and location, an annual jewelry budget and an employee discount.

Expectations

We’ll be reviewing applications and interviewing applicants continuously. We’ll do our best to communicate what to expect along the way, but given the high volume of applicants, we will not be able to respond to everyone.
