Schmidli, an established backdrop company in Culver City is currently seeking a Studio Assistant. The right candidate has a background in the arts, is creative, and is committed to delivering quality work. You will be responsible for a variety of duties in the studio. As needed you will prepare shipments, make deliveries, office runs and maintain the studio and equipment with great attention to detail. On occasion, assistance will be needed with painting large scale backdrops. We need someone who is extremely reliable with a great work ethic, a can do attitude, and who is self-motivated. We are looking for someone with long term potential who would be interested in growing with the company.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Possess a valid Driver’s License and clean driving record

  • Able to lift 70+ lbs

  • Ability to maneuver backdrops and large objects

  • Comfortable working with power tools

  • Must have a good eye for detail and take direction well

  • Basic knowledge of Photography, Photoshop, Lightroom, and other Adobe programs

  • Stretch muslin on metal frames, prepare canvas on wooden stretcher bars

  • Clean / repair backdrops

  • Maintain studio and tools

  • Highly organized and punctual

  • Knowledge of painting, use airbrush and spray paint equipment a plus

  • Knowledge of Los Angeles-area Photography Studios a plus

Our hours are Monday through Friday 8am-5pm, work schedule is flexible.

Salary based on skill set.
