Tell Me About It with Jade Iovine is looking for a creative, experienced Social Media Video Editor to create content and develop a strategy for the show’s promotional social content. In this role, you will be responsible for editing and assembling recorded raw material from guest interviews into a fresh, smart, fun and engaging brand asset for social.

Tell Me About It is the podcast manifestation of all the “off-the-record” conversations women have with one another about the things we’re taught to stay silent about -- from stumbling through our twenties, rejections, heartbreaks, fertility struggles, mental health challenges, mistakes, and the cringey shame spirals that keep us up at night.

Host Jade Iovine and her guests challenge the idea of social-media-perfected lives and get very real about all the less-than-perfect and inevitable shitty moments we all go through. Tell Me About It is here to remind us that we’re not alone... and that the women we constantly compare ourselves to ALSO have lives that are far from perfect.

Responsibilities:

  • Create approximately 4-6 videos per month to promote new episodes (may vary depending on month; compensation is per video)

  • Regularly collaborate with client to discuss content and overall brand vision

  • Develop an overall video brand messaging strategy that extends the voice of the show and other show collateral

  • Keep up with current trends in editing specifically in editing specifically for social media

  • Insert text, sound effects, music, graphics, and special effects

  • Discover and implement new techniques/methods to maximize video’s effectiveness

  • Ensure the project follows a logical sequence

  • Create the final cut for posting on social media

  • Work remotely


Qualifications:

  • Previous work experience as a video editor

  • Portfolio of completed film productions

  • Skilled in editing for IGTV, IG Reels, Tiktok, YouTube

  • Skilled in graphics, light visual effects, and sound editing/mixing

  • Creative decision-making skills

  • Good time-management skills / ability to work to a tight schedule

  • Great interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to work independently, and take initiative wherever needed

  • Ability to translate ideas into complete projects

  • Ideally loves listening to podcasts
