The Center Brands (MAKE Beauty, Saltair, Phlur, Prequel) are looking to add a highly engaging, and strategic, Art Director, to join our expanding team, and support our Creative Director, in the creative direction, content ideation, and creation process.

This role is responsible for the ideation and execution of overall creative direction and strategy of our prestige brands across all digital platforms, retailers and consumer touch points, in close partnership with the Creative Director, and ensuring the brands maintain cohesive creative and tone of voice that reflect the mission and ethos.

This role requires a strong creative thinker, who can shift from ideation to design, as needed, to bring to life interesting stories for our audience across diverse communication channels including social, digital, retail, OOH and more. Collaborating closely with the Creative Director and Brand Marketing team, you will act as a thought leader in the organization. A strong understanding of the brand and business objectives, and the ability to think strategically and contribute to new ways of engaging our consumer across all digital platforms, e-commerce, social and retail partners.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Thought leader and strategic partner to Creative Director in the development and evolution of brand mission, language, and visuals that support the brands business priorities.

  • Support the creative direction and strategy for the Content and Creative teams, from concept through to execution.

  • Translate business and marketing objectives into ideas that are clear, compelling, visually exciting, engaging and in-keeping with brand expression and standards.

  • Must be able to manage daily workload for self and design team. Meet deadlines and expectations on projects to ensure that the design and marketing deliverables are completed on time.

  • Contribute innovative creative strategies, industry trends and innovations, driving vision and insights to creative ideation, strategy, and production planning.

  • Provide additional senior-level leadership to Creative and Content teams, acting as key support to Creative Director.

Qualifications:

  • Prior graphic design experience required (as well as management of graphics design teams preferred).

  • On-set photography experience with a sensitive eye for art direction, photo/video editing, cropping, and retouching.

  • Experience in video including editing, motion graphics / animation, color direction, etc.

  • Knowledge of social as well as experience working with various online ad design specs and media requirements.

  • Knowledge of best practices for the Web with a particular focus on beauty retail and editorial.

  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong project management, organizational and planning skills.

  • Ability to brainstorm and develop creative concepts that combine branding and commerce.

  • In-depth knowledge of appropriate usage of the latest versions of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premier, Bridge, image optimization for web, and other web authoring / motion graphic tools.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; and two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
