A toy company is seeking a self-starter Brand Designer with expertise in graphic design and branding. This role is temp to potentially permanent and contracted at first. This role will focus on developing visually compelling marketing communications that align with brand strategy and business objectives across multiple touchpoints, including key art, retail, social, digital, video production, environmental, and experiential design.
The ideal candidate will be highly conceptual and hands-on, skilled at ideation and creation, while collaborating effectively with both internal and external partners. You will design innovative brand assets that support iconic toy brands. A strong understanding of graphic design principles, typography, and a strategic approach to design are key to success in this role.

What Your Impact Will Be:
Key Responsibilities:
Hands-on design and art direction spanning 360° campaigns, experiential, print, social, video production, branding, graphic development, brand guides, merchandising, and more.
Conceptualize big ideas that are on-brand and translate across various mediums, including advertising, retail, digital, social, broadcast, print, licensing, tool kit/guide creation, trade shows, merchandising, catalogs, and interiors.
Design thoughtful, on-brand, and compelling work that aligns with current campaigns.
Collaborate positively and productively with copywriters, producers, marketing partners, and fellow designers.
Maintain ownership of work from concept through final delivery while ensuring alignment with leadership and addressing feedback from brand and marketing partners.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, delivering efficiently and on time.
Present ideas confidently to managers, leadership, and cross-functional partners, including social, video, packaging, and consumer products teams.
What We’re Looking For:
Deep understanding of design principles, graphic design, and typography.
Awareness of current trends in art, pop culture, design, advertising, social media, digital, and entertainment.
Fluency on social platforms.
Video knowledge from pre-production to post, including concepting, storyboard review, casting, wardrobe, editing, and graphics.
Ability to translate core branding equities and tone through various marketing activations.
Strong organizational, presentation, and written communication skills.
Focus on results, leveraging creative expertise and relationship-building skills to drive decision-making.
Growth mindset and openness to learning from others.
Experience, Knowledge, and Skills Required:
4-7 years of experience in Art Direction, Graphic Design, or a similar field.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite; familiarity with Excel and Word.
Skilled in page and file organization for efficient document sharing and file hand-offs.
Experience with Workfront or other job tracking software preferred.
Experience in social and video production preferred.
Background working with large-scale, global brands preferred.
Design firm/agency experience preferred.
Writing skills a bonus.
Education Required:
BA/BS/BFA in Graphic Design and/or MA/MFA.
Location:
El Segundo, CA. Regular in-office presence required.
