Heike Leming

I took the Graphic Design Course and absolutely loved it! I was between jobs and thought it was the perfect opportunity to take this course to sharpen my skill set and confidence, since I'm a self-taught graphic designer.

Section 2 is where I learned a lot about myself and my capabilities as a graphic designer. I always lacked confidence and had impostor syndrome when it came to design and branding. Section 2 challenged me and my design abilities, showing me that I am able to do what I thought I lacked. My project, 'She's a Snack,' is one of my favorite pieces of work, and I'm really proud of it.

My favorite thing about the course was learning about graphic design in a fun way that ilovecreatives offer. Puno created such a fun way of learning that is digestible and easy to understand since it's all online and self-paced. I never felt overwhelmed or stressed out. Also, Mindy and Sarah really care and give such great feedback, you don't feel alone while taking this online course.

My advice for someone thinking about taking the course is to just do it! Have fun, don't get caught up in your head. Everyone is here to learn and to have fun; it's a great, creative, and supportive community.

I would say there are a lot of good things that have come out of taking this course, but if I have to say just one—it would be my confidence in myself and trusting that I am fully capable and know what I am doing as a graphic designer. Yes, I am still learning and evolving as a designer, but now I have that confidence boost and am proud to share my work!
