I took the Graphic Design Course because I wanted to improve my visual design skills and build spec projects for my portfolio.

One thing I learned about myself in the course was having to decide what my dream client would be was helpful in determining what aspects of design I should further research.

My favorite thing about the course was the tone. It really felt like I was learning a lot but in such a playful way. That made it so easy to absorb the material and want to jump into the videos / homework after doing a 8 hours at a day job.

My advice for anyone thinking of taking the course is remember you are taking it for yourself. Every assignment is something future you is going to be thankful you spent time on. Label your work and jot down your thought process to making building your case studies / portfolio pieces easier to write up later.

Seeing the work and websites of others in the discord has been a great way to get inspired by something other than the top 10 things that float to the top of Pinterest.
