I took the Squarespace Design Course because after graduating from college, I still felt so underprepared for a creative career. I had a job that I knew wasn’t for me, and after I got laid off, I felt that it was time to try something new and give freelancing a shot. I didn’t know what I wanted to do or where to start, but then I found the Squarespace Design Course and it felt like a perfect fit.
When building my custom site, I discovered that I love getting to be both the web designer and developer. I get to be creative with my designs but also problem solve and engage the logical side of me.
My favorite thing about the course was the custom site section and getting feedback on my work. When you’re working on a project, it’s so easy to feel stuck if you tend to be a perfectionist or when you’re not sure what to do next, but the community and assignments gave me accountability and an extra push to finish my website (+ realize that done is better than perfect!). Puno also gives detailed, personalized feedback that really helps you elevate your work!
If you’re hesitating about taking this course, I say do it! As someone with no prior experience in web design and freelancing, I had a lot of questions. But for every question that popped up along the way, there was a resource for it. And I’m still working my way through all of the resources!
Taking this course has helped me figure out what kind of work I want to create and given me the confidence to actually create it. Seeing what other people in the course are creating also opened my eyes to all of the different possibilities there are with Squarespace!
