This process was way more introspective than I expected. I thought I came in knowing myself and how I like to edit, only to discover I had so much more to dig and evaluate. In school, normally you wouldn't share your work in progress and only show up with the results. Revealing each step of the process was foreign and uncomfortable for me, especially with such a personal video.
The live office hours taught me to try talking about my ideas with other creatives so that the ideas can evolve and transform. Now, I try to hash every video I want to create through the creative process worksheets because it pushes me to consider all my other interests and further expand my original ideas on paper instead of keeping them in my head.
The beginning was hard because it demanded me to open up first and that was new and I wasn't expecting that. All the questions that I needed to ask myself were in the Creative Process workbook.
I think the biggest takeaway was setting boundaries. I've never considered the things I don't want to do or the things I don't want to share.
