I've worked in service and experience design for years, but didn't come from a formal design education background. I took the Graphic Design Course for two reasons:
➀ As I've grown into leadership roles, my remit has started to include visual designers and people with creative direction skillsets - I wanted to understand a little more about this side of design, so that I could be a better support to them.
➁ I work on a lot of personal/side projects and wanted to improve my ability to realise what's in my head visually.

A few things I love about the course:
➀ The resources and exercises are really current and use inspiring examples - this was particularly helpful for my personal project work, as I felt able to get my ideas to a 'launch-ready' state myself.
➁ The monthly live calls and discord support is really good and very responsive when people have questions - I learn a lot from simply reading the feedback given to other students on their work.

My advice for someone thinking about taking the course: Be prepared to put the work in, this isn't a simple follow-along, theoretical learning experience - everything is set up to help you upskill massively and you'll be rewarded (and probably surprise yourself!) by the end.

I've continued to come back to some of the course modules and the discord chat even two years on from signing up, which has helped me launch some of my own projects and be more creative in my day job.
