WHAT DO YOU DO?
I’ve written or edited lifestyle blogs for brands, celebrities, small businesses, and other influencers since 2013. I’m also co-founder of wallflower, a creative studio and community for freelancers and design enthusiasts. I love creating content for independent brands and creatives to elevate their digital presence—whether it’s in web copy, blog posts, social, lifestyle photography, or any other way I can. My latest project is @ecoclubofficial, a digital publication and sustainable living community for lovers of color + craft + creative expression.
WHAT STEPS DID YOU TAKE TO GET WHERE YOU ARE NOW?
I studied English in college, while blogging and managing Etsy shops for a creative outlet, so I had the education and some real-world experience that helped me land my first editorial job in Los Angeles. I worked at agencies, freelanced for major blogs, and kept working on side projects for almost 5 years in LA. I think the most helpful thing for me was to continue working on the things I’m passionate about while building a portfolio as an editor. It gave me the skills to start my own websites and find more work that really aligns with my values—small businesses, creativity, and conscious living.
FOR OTHER PEOPLE IN YOUR FIELD, WHAT DO THEY USUALLY LACK?
A lot of people in social media and digital content focus more on trends and aesthetics than creating truly original, quality content, editing their work, and building a foundation for success in the long term. I think you have to do a bit of everything to run a blog that sticks around for more than a year or two.
WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON RIGHT NOW?
Partnering with web developer Jennifer Andrew on the launch of our studio wallflower. There we offer full service digital strategy including copy, web design, development, and social media. Our blog focuses on wellness, inspiration, and resources for creatives, so we're interviewing other freelancers to learn more about their processes.
WHAT'S YOUR STYLE/PERSPECTIVE/TASTE? DO YOU HAVE A PROJECT THAT REPRESENTS THIS?
My writing style is honest but warm. I give my reader the benefit of the doubt and don’t assume they know or don't know something. I like to provide something, like a tip or advice, while staying in that mindset that there's always more to learn. That said, I can adopt (and polish) any other voice when the job calls for it.
WE ARE ALL SLASHIES WITH MULTIPLE SKILLS, WHICH ONE DO YOU WISH YOU COULD DO MORE OFTEN?
Product styling for businesses that need more creative imagery!
WHAT IS FRUSTRATING YOU RIGHT NOW?
Launching a new part of my business can be frustrating because I’m inspired by the creative work but have to trudge through a lot of uninspiring tasks before I can get to that point. It’s hard to stay motivated when you don’t have a big team to delegate or even bounce ideas off of.
IF YOU COULD HIRE SOMEONE FOR $20/HOUR, WHAT WOULD YOU HAVE THEM DO TO MAKE YOUR DAY EASIER?
I’d have them help implement our social media strategy, since Instagram requires so much attention that I can’t give while doing everything else!
LET'S BRING OUT THE TIME MACHINE. WHAT DO YOU WISH YOU COULD HAVE TOLD YOURSELF, WHEN, AND WHY?
Get out of your comfort zone.
IF YOU COULD TALK TO AN EXPERT TO GAIN MORE INSIGHT ON SOMETHING, WHAT WOULD IT BE ABOUT?
How did you get started? How did you take your ideas and finally commit? I love to hear how other writers just get going on the projects they feel the most connected to.
WHAT KIND OF OPPORTUNITIES/PROJECTS ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?
If you need a copywriter, I’m all yours. Especially for ethical and sustainable brands. I also love to collaborate with other freelancers!
I’m always on the hunt for creatives to interview, contributor voices to add to my blogs, or brands to feature! If this is you, please feel free to get in touch. :)
WHAT IS YOUR IDEAL CLIENT?
My ideal clients are small service-based businesses or independent e-commerce shops that need someone to find and strengthen their voice and tell their unique story.
HOW SHOULD SOMEONE APPROACH YOU ABOUT WORKING TOGETHER?

HOW DO YOU STAY CREATIVE?
I go on walks. Lots and lots of walks.
