WHAT DO YOU DO?
Through blogs, articles, website copy, and newsletter creation, I provide valuable content.
WHAT STEPS DID YOU TAKE TO GET TO WHERE YOU ARE NOW?
I have a degree in costume design and a background in fashion, both have helped me to gain extensive knowledge about how clothing affects our lives. I have been published on several sites including The Good Trade, Happy Malista, and Swap Society.
FOR OTHER PEOPLE IN YOUR FIELD, WHAT DO THEY USUALLY LACK?
Most people do not have the wide perspective that is needed to make insightful and successful content. In other words, most individuals in this field do not have a variety of experiences which can inform their work.
WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON RIGHT NOW?
Along with my freelance work I am working on content for my own website, which will be launching this summer.
WHAT'S YOUR STYLE/PERSPECTIVE/TASTE? DO YOU HAVE A PROJECT THAT REPRESENTS THIS?
I love candid, approachable, and honest content with a bit of attitude. I enjoy finding connections between the seemingly superficial and intellectual. There is always something more to learn! Here's a good example!
WE ARE ALL SLASHIES WITH MULTIPLE SKILLS, WHICH ONE DO YOU WISH YOU COULD DO MORE OFTEN?
I wish I could focus more on fabric and fiber identification. I would love to continue learning about different materials and become an expert in the subject. The future of fashion is innovation!
WHAT IS FRUSTRATING YOU RIGHT NOW?
Finding the right rhythm. I am excited about all of the projects I am participating in currently, however, I often let my own projects fall through the cracks.
IF YOU COULD HIRE SOMEONE FOR $20/HR, WHAT WOULD YOU HAVE THEM DO TO MAKE YOUR DAY EASIER?
A personal assistant, to help me stay on schedule, and keep me from talking to myself so much...
LET'S BRING OUT THE TIME MACHINE. WHAT DO YOU WISH YOU COULD HAVE TOLD YOURSELF, WHEN, AND WHY?
I wish, when I graduated high school, I had told myself (and listened to my parents who did tell me) that the little things don't matter. I have spent so much time in my life stressing about every project, internship, or connection. Although I still have a tendency towards stress, it's been liberating to remind myself that everything will come together. As long as I work hard and continue locating my passion, I will land.
IF YOU COULD TALK TO AN EXPERT TO GAIN MORE INSIGHT ON SOMETHING, WHAT WOULD IT BE ABOUT?
Business. The financial and business planning worlds continue to overwhelm me!
WHAT KIND OF OPPORTUNITIES/PROJECTS ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?
I would love to provide guest posts, write website copy, create engaging newsletters, and collaborate with other sustainable fashion advocates.
DESCRIBE YOUR IDEAL JOB/CLIENT/COLLABORATION.
Ideally, I would like to work with other individuals who are focused on conscious living and trying to make waves in our current systems! This can mean projects on sustainable fashion, body positivity, feminism, labor rights, activism, zero waste etc. I always think two heads are better than one so I enjoy when I have the opportunity to truly collaborate with someone. I love figuring out how to use my unique perspective to execute someone else's vision.
WHAT IS YOUR HOURLY RATE, RETAINER, OR SALARY RANGE?
It does depend on the project. $75 per 500-600 word post, $100 per 700-800 word post, $150 per 900-1,000 word post . For other projects my hourly rate is $25.
HOW SHOULD SOMEONE APPROACH YOU ABOUT WORKING TOGETHER?
Please email me and let me know what your project/business is, what role you would like me to play in it, budget, and scope of project.
HOW DO YOU STAY CREATIVE?
Coffee with a side of podcasts.
