What do you do?

I design and art direct. I provide branding, logos, websites, print pieces, illustration, photography and copy writing for clients. I also am a photographer, artist, and ceramicist.

What steps did you take to get where you are now?

I graduated Syracuse University with a BFA in Communications Design. I have worked in many fields of design in New York and Los Angeles always striving to expand my experience and expertise.

For other people in your field, what do they usually lack?

I feel more often than not designers may be great at creating something aesthetically pleasing but they fail to take in to consideration the audience, the competition, and whats already been done. Design is more about problem solving to me than making a pretty picture. I think research is vital to beginning any project.

What are you working on right now?

I freelance for several clients. My passions lie in non profit work, green design, fashion and lifestyle brands.

We are all Slashies with multiple skills, which one do you wish you could do more often?

Working with my hands! I love it. It engaging and rewarding. Also doing more photography.

What is frustrating you right now?

Finding a career/job that lets me utilize my many talents. I'm a jack of all trades and love variety.

What task keeps landing at the bottom of the To Do list?

Many personal projects.

If you could hire someone for $20/hour, what would you have them do to make your day easier?

Deal with phone calls and securing clients. Helping with design work.

Let's bring out the time machine. What do you wish you could have told yourself, when, and why?

Ten years ago, focus on what comes naturally instead of what will make money.

If you could talk to an expert to gain more insight on something, what would it be about?

Anyone who successfully runs and business and loves what they do!

What kind of opportunities/projects are you looking for?

I'm open to many kinds projects currently.

What is your ideal client?

I don't think there is an ideal, I think there is something wonderful to be gained from any new collaboration or job.

Do you allow yourself to say No?

Yes, something I don't feel passionate about. I know my work won't be as good as I except it to be if my heart isn't in it.

What is your rate?

I work within many client budgets. Typically hourly I charge between $50 - $75. Salary range I'm looking at $85,000 +

How should someone approach you about working together?

What is the reason to collaborate, what is the goal or mission, who's the target audience and what would be the outcome. Budget doesn't hurt, passion is a must!
