Q What do you do?

I’m a Designer & Art Director specializing in Print (Packaging), Branding, & delivering editorial & e-comm campaign assets — primarily in Beauty. Previously earning GPA’s Print & Design Award “The Best of Category.”

(Weren’t you hoping I’d say that?)

Q What steps did you take to get to where you are now?

Failing constantly to the point of fearlessness

Q How do you stand out in your field?

* Having been alive before the internet
* Not sacrificing integrity or authenticity for a perceived outcome
* [Something about being original]
* Saying no to jobs that aren't the direction I want to go
* Being self-deprecating

Q What are you working on right now?

Pitching my life goal of creating an album cover for Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys (and Dolly Parton, if you're reading this)

Q What’s your style?

"Romantic, Nostalgic Branding" - anything dreamy. I'd like all my work to function as an homage, a love letter, or an object of desire that evokes emotion and curiosity.

Q Out of all your slashies, which one do you wish you could do more often?

Photography

Q What is frustrating you right now?

Regulating my nervous system / finding aligned collaborators & clients to work with

Q If you could hire someone for $20/hour, what would you have them do to make your day easier?

Respond to my DMs, keep my apartment clean, wash my face before bed - can ai do that??

Q What do you wish you could have told yourself, when, and why?

These sound cliché (and they are) but all true:

* Love yourself
* Make decisions that support yourself / your dreams / your cats
* Trust your gut / don't second-guess your instincts
* Invest in yourself and save more, like way more
* Be abundant - you're not on earth to hoard wealth and live in fear (but also save money)
* Fear keeps everyone from doing what they want, but it's not real
* Don't talk yourself out of what you know you want & is right for you
* Do talk yourself out of what you know you don't want & isn't right for you
* Don't do things for an outcome - do it because it's true to who you really are
* TRY to be your best self - even when it's really hard - before just giving up
* Don't question your worth - EVERRRR
* You're worthy no matter what anyone says, especially you
* Don't lock yourself out of the house on New Year's Eve
* Be excellent to each other

Q If you could talk to an expert to gain more insight on something, what would it be about?

Investing lol. Also technical aspects of photography and studio lighting.

Q What kind of opportunities/projects are you looking for?

* Anything with a soul. Romantic, nostalgic, dreamy, minimal, conceptual. But I will say no to anything ugly.

* Services: Branding / Packaging & Print / Consultations / Art Direction / Amateur Photography / Brand Strategizing / Digital & Print Campaigns / Decks

* Packaging Design: esp objects of desire - album covers, perfume, jewelry, beauty/wellness/skincare, clothing tags, beverages, shoe boxes, menswear, luxury, home objects

* Art Direction: editorial & e-comm portraits & still lifes. Hero shots. Vogue cover is on the bucket list - it will be mine, oh yes ...

Q Describe your ideal job/client/collaboration.

I'd love to work with anyone sharing aligned aesthetic sensibilities and has a soul / good values - ideally:

freelance or hybrid

35hrs a week

on a contract

pays weekly or every other week *angel emoji*

Q: What is your rate?

Starting at $80 - 100+ hourly, I'll do whatever you say. Open to discussing per project for the following services:

* branding
* brand strategizing
* consultations
* art & creative direction
* print / packaging design
* digital & print campaigns
* decks
* amateur photography

I find that contracts which specify dates, payment, and terms work really well

Q How should someone approach you about working together?

Call me, beep me if you want to reach me. Aka email me: jenniferserchia@gmail.com

Q Who is a creative you admire?

Sooo many, but top 3:

* Please hire my twin sister Christine Serchia for Art Direction in the UK - she's a total star (obviously we're twins)
* Skyler Tulchin - Art Director and former coworker with stunning work who's changed my life, & we work together effortlessly (hire us both).
* Also stylist Dione Davis is both super talented and my favorite person on the internet (hi, if you're reading this)

Q Oh! and… how do you stay creative?

Taking breaks to go outside and scroll the Zara website, durrr
