WHAT DO YOU DO?
“I am a pro Video Editor, Graphic Designer, and Fashion Designer. ”
I take on client’s creative vision and give them something they’ve never seen before whether it be video, graphics, branding, etc. I also do flat sketches for all my fashion designer clients!
WHAT STEPS DID YOU TAKE TO GET TO WHERE YOU ARE NOW?
I taught myself how to sew and video edit. I started both at a young age and never stopped. I got to heavily improve my skills in fashion and graphic design while at FIDM. I graduated from FIDM with a degree in Fashion Design in 2019.
How do you stand out in your field?
The number one thing I think about when I am creating anything is “will this turn heads?” Being completely out of the box and making sure my clients will get something they have never seen before is extremely important to me. I also try really hard to stay away from trends, preferring to make my own instead.
WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON RIGHT NOW?
Right now I’m working on a couple clientele and personal projects. I am coming out with a short film directed and edited by me called “My Love Letter To LA Girls.”
WHAT'S YOUR STYLE/PERSPECTIVE/TASTE? DO YOU HAVE A PROJECT THAT REPRESENTS THIS?
I love bright colors, mostly purples, blues and pinks, and glowing elements. Someone described my aesthetic as the rush you feel in Japan or walking into a nightclub. I would definitely agree with that. Movies with similar aesthetics have inspired me the most and I definitely take inspiration from my favorite films.
WE ARE ALL SLASHIES WITH MULTIPLE SKILLS, WHICH ONE DO YOU WISH YOU COULD DO MORE OFTEN?
I wish I could focus more on fashion when it comes to draping, sewing and creating my own designs. All those take an extreme amount of time and attention to detail to get the best fit possible.
WHAT IS FRUSTRATING YOU RIGHT NOW?
I think when people hear you’re a freelancer they assume since you don’t have an agency or management backing you up and that you're cheap. It’s insulting when people come to you for your talent and then try to negotiate your value. Then again, it’s the quickest way for me to know if we should be working together or not.
IF YOU COULD HIRE SOMEONE FOR $20/HR, WHAT WOULD YOU HAVE THEM DO TO MAKE YOUR DAY EASIER?
I would love someone to do marketing for me across all my accounts, that would help me out a lot and give me the time to just focus on all my work.
LET'S BRING OUT THE TIME MACHINE. WHAT DO YOU WISH YOU COULD HAVE TOLD YOURSELF, WHEN, AND WHY?
Stop overthinking, it’s better to do it messy than not at all, and STAY CONSISTENT.
IF YOU COULD TALK TO AN EXPERT TO GAIN MORE INSIGHT ON SOMETHING, WHAT WOULD IT BE ABOUT?
I’m currently getting into investing in real estate, art and the stock market and would love insight from someone who is heavily involved in all of those things.
WHAT KIND OF OPPORTUNITIES/PROJECTS ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?
I love being able to collaborate with people to mesh our ideas together to create something sick, I truly love every single opportunity that comes because you are giving me a chance to explore my creativity which is such a gift in itself.
DESCRIBE YOUR IDEAL JOB/CLIENT/COLLABORATION.
I love working with easy-going, excited people. I take my work and my clients extremely seriously but want to have fun in the process with them because that’s what life and art are all about!
Who is a creative that has helped you elevate your work?
I truly can’t pick just one person. I think all creatives today have helped me grow so much, whether I know them personally or just through a screen, there’s a whole bunch of incredibly talented people all willing to help each other.
