Q What do you do?

I help women-owned brands authentically and strategically show up online with content that doesn’t break the bank.

Q What steps did you take to get to where you are now?

If I said I did everything I was supposed to do to get where I am now, I’d be lying. I received a bachelor’s degree in Spanish Language & Literature and another bachelor’s degree in Latin American & Caribbean Studies. So yeah, like most everyone else, I went into debt for a degree I don’t even use. I worked in customer service and hospitality for the majority of my career, so I have plenty of experience working with people. Five years ago, I transitioned to events and marketing. Then COVID hit and my job was obsolete. Instead of navigating the hiring process at the peak of the pandemic, I decided to take a bigger risk (it’s the Virgo in me) and start my own business. It was then that I started my business, and I’m proud to say that I’ve been helping women-owned businesses with their online presences ever since.

Q How do you stand out in your field?

I like to think that transparency is my superpower. As cliche (and as annoyed as I am for even describing it this way), I really do meet you where you’re at... without the fluff. I will always share my opinion and I will never just tell you what you want to hear. Because to be honest, there’s no success found in gray areas.

Q What are you working on right now?

Currently, I split half my time as the Chief Marketing Officer for a wonderful mental health brand called Feelings Found and the other half as a content creator. I've worked with a variety of different brands including but not limited to organicgirl, Boona, Fulton & Roark, 21Seeds, The Republic of Tea, and Mary & Jane.

Q What’s your style?

There’s so much noise in the digital world, and I find that the most effective content is often the simplest. After all, they do say that less is more.

Q What is frustrating you right now?

Gas prices in California, lol. But in all seriousness, if one more social media app is developed, I might switch industries.

Q If you could hire someone for $20/hour, what would you have them do to make your day easier?

Omg... Optimize my CRM automations please and thank you.

Q What do you wish you could have told yourself, when, and why?

During my 20’s, I admittedly wore burnout like a medal of honor. If I knew what I know now, I would’ve told myself that: 1. mental health is more important than any job and 2. I will never see an ROI on all of the time and energy I give to someone else’s business. I also could sit here and say that I wish I had started my business sooner and invested that same time and energy into myself, but I try not to live with regrets.

Q If you could talk to an expert to gain more insight on something, what would it be about?

100% mindset. We all know that working in social media can take a toll on one’s mental health. Comparison and information overload often turns into imposter syndrome, low self esteem, and perfectionist tendencies. How do we set clearer boundaries? How can we be more mindful of screen time? Are we comparing ourselves too much to others? Are we aware of how social media affects our mood? How do we maintain a healthy mindset and balance while working in this industry?

Q What kind of opportunities/projects are you looking for?

Content creation including brand photography, user-generated content, and paid ads.

Q Describe your ideal job/client/collaboration.

I am committed to working with women-owned brands that give something back to the community. I am passionate about creating inclusive and impactful content that resonates with diverse audiences. And I am dedicated to prioritizing human connection and leaving social media a little bit better than I found it.

My ideal client understands the difference between organic and paid social. They don't believe that "going viral" is a strategy. They trust my expertise and my ability to transform their social media.

Q What is your rate?

Probably not the answer you want to hear, but my services and my pricing do vary as they’re customizable. I’m available for both one-time projects at my hourly rate and for monthly retainers which require a three-month minimum. My services include content creation, user-generated content, and social media management + strategy* (*limited availability).

Q How should someone approach you about working together?

Call me, beep me if you want to reach me. Please email me at hello@notonlywhen.com with the scope of work as well as your budget. If you want to add a reference from Rush Hour 2, I'll know it was meant to be.

Q Who is a creative you admire?

Ummmm, how many is too many?! Creatives I love... Corey Staley. Daisy Draper. Skylar Wilson. And they're all on ILC, you're welcome.

Q Oh! and… how do you stay creative?

Get off my phone and go for a walk! That's when I've thought of all my best ideas.
