Q What do you do?

I am a hybrid creative coach for BIPOC creativepreneurs + artists (and supportive allies).

I help you beat imposter syndrome, say NO to burnout, and fall back in love with your creativity all within a de-colonized lens. Oh and the hybrid comes from my 10+ years of creative consulting that I give all my clients access to btw 🤙🏽

Q What steps did you take to get to where you are now?

My journey as a WOC in the creative industry, like my art, has been experimental, weird, unorthodox, and eye-opening because let’s be honest there is no blueprint for success for us when it comes to building a business in the arts. I did not come from capital, I did not go to business school, and for 90% of my career, I have been the first /only womxn or POC on a team. The not-so-cute reality of being the “first” is it’s a whole lot of guessing and failing. I could sit here and tell you I have yearrrs of experience doing every little job from PAing a Public Service TV station, to starting a sports apparel label, styling for magazines, selling my art in galleries, founding an international 3D animation studio, launching a VR game, to working at NIKE, and building community at Hey Sis World. BUT (and a major but) those job titles are NOT the sauce that got me where I am today. It was a major burnout that left me fighting for my life in a hospital and questioning everything. When I got released I made 1 huge promise to myself- that I would never trade my wellbeing for a job and I would never not walk into any room, situation, experience as my 100% self. I deserve it. TODAY I don’t believe in toxic hustle culture. Instead, I make time for what makes me happy while honoring my culture and making enough $$ + energy to support my ideas and my community. Being a creative coach makes me so damn fired UP about helping other creative entrepreneurs ditch the starving artist mentality and embrace healthy creative living.

Q How do you stand out in your field?

I am one of the only Indigenous/Latinx creative coaches out there honey! And the biggest thing that sets me apart is my experience being in the trenches of entrepreneurship and the art world. Everything I teach stems from real-life experiences as an artist of color.

Q What are you working on right now?

1. A new coaching program for high-profile founders ( because we need a LOT of love and that's ok 💚)
2. Loads of new coaching content for my newsletter community. I would simply not be doing what I do without their continued support

Q What’s your style?

Yes! My Big World NRG program focuses on mindset reset in only 5 weeks (because time poverty is a real thing for black and brown people) so you can get unstuck and give yourself permission to grow in the direction of your big WHY. My POV: Every artist has a vision for the future- and this one is mine- that every BIPOC creative entrepreneur & artist can fill ANY space they choose to walk into with BIG unapologetic NRG. We’re not here to survive, we’re gonna THRIVE. So all I'm saying is let's build that future NOW...starting with you 😉

Q Out of all your slashies, which one do you wish you could do more often?

Creative Coaching is life right now! I don't want to stop until we start to see a real shift in the industry for us BIPOC folx.

Q What is frustrating you right now?

Getting the word out in general- marketing to BIPOC folx who need my help, ads, PR, social media- I have an incredible product I just want more people to see it!

Q If you could hire someone for $20/hour, what would you have them do to make your day easier?

Managing outreach to potential clients + social media

Q What do you wish you could have told yourself, when, and why?

I wish I could have told myself in my 20s that my feelings of inadequacy aka imposter syndrome were not actually about ME- I was simply trying too hard to fit into spaces that were not designed for me.

Q If you could talk to an expert to gain more insight on something, what would it be about?

If you are a BIPOC person in PR OR Venture Capital let's grab a virtual coffee ☕️bigworldnrg@gmail.com

Q What kind of opportunities/projects are you looking for?

New solo clients, speaking engagements, podcast guest drop-ins, and collabs with brands to lead smaller intimate coaching experiences.

Q Describe your ideal job/client/collaboration.

A collab with brands and creatives with like-minded values to lead a multi-day coaching experience. After this pandemic, community healing is so needed!

Q: What is your rate?

Ranges from a one-time session of $175/hr for first-time clients, to monthly packages of $3k/month. We work together with your schedule + Budget to build a package that works for your goals. Corporate clients can email me directly for quotes for their team. And if you are just dipping your toes into coaching but wanna sample first , I offer free workshops available through the Big World NRG newsletter👩🏽‍💻

Q How should someone approach you about working together?

Email answering this honestly: what brings you to creative coaching and what is your biggest fear about your creative life at this moment? There are no wrong answers, only honest ones 🦋

Q Oh! and… how do you stay creative?

I make time for play every week like my life depends on it🌻
