Q What do you do?
“I’m the Co-Founder of a new SaaS for creative entrepreneurs and companies called Roam.io.”
We're a "Company Success Manager" software that removes admin tasks & barriers. We want creatives to get back to creating and spend less time on admin work. Nothing dampens a creative’s zeal than hours of tracking, billing, etc. And we sure know, creativity is what the world not only needs to hold onto, but needs more of. Forget trying to be the jack (or jackie) of all trades. Our platform consolidates essential non-creative tasks like estimates, billing, and project management into one solution. Our first tool, the Fee Finder, helps creatives accurately price their work and ensure they're being paid a fair living wage based on their location and market value.
Q What steps did you take to get to where you are now?
Ooof! How far back do I go? I'm first-gen in America and both of my parents were creatives themselves but had to abandon that dream due to what we've always heard "you'll be poor if you work in creativity". My brother and I are creatives ourselves (freelance photographers) but I have always excelled more on the business side so went the agency route. After working in-house and seeing the constant issues our freelancers faced, along with ours as the business owners, I approached Kim Price who shared the same frustrations and said, "let's just build this solution ourselves!" We've brought on a software engineer from Veed.io in the last 6-months and are on our way. Building solutions for creatives, by creatives.
Q How do you stand out in your field?
With a professional background in international business and full-time experience in both Europe and the USA, I've also embraced the digital nomadic lifestyle for the past 4 years. During this time, I've selected various temporary ""home"" locations across the globe, including places in South America, the Middle East, and South Africa.
Having grown up in a creative home and exploring creativity from different professional angles, alongside my degree in psychology, I've come to appreciate the profound impact of creativity on the world. It possesses a unique ability to heal, an obvious truth supported by research and profoundly felt when we engage in creativity, right? In light of the escalating mental health issues.. we are committed to ensuring that more creatives achieve success.
