Q What do you do?

I help women-led businesses and independent brands build bold, strategy-first identities and conversion-focused websites.

I specialize in Squarespace and Shopify, partnering primarily with lifestyle, beauty, and fashion-forward brands ready to show up with clarity and confidence.

Q What steps did you take to get to where you are now?

I studied art and design at ESAD in France, later specializing in graphic design and UI/UX during my master’s degree.Traveling and meeting creatives working in the field gave me the clarity and confidence to fully commit to design. A few years after graduating, I opened my studio in 2020, right in the middle of the pandemic, because honestly… why not.

Before that, I worked as a graphic designer in France, but everything shifted when my husband and I moved to San Francisco in 2017. Being surrounded by a new creative energy and entrepreneurial culture changed how I saw my career and what felt possible. When we later moved to Seattle, it felt like a fresh start. I knew I didn’t want a traditional path, I wanted to build something of my own. Booking my first client that year was the spark that made it real, and I never looked back.

I naturally began working with women entrepreneurs, initially drawn to beauty and lifestyle brands, but over time it became something much deeper. Supporting women-led businesses, helping them feel confident, seen, and empowered through design, became the heart of my work. Along the way, I learned to run a business, refine my craft, and grow my skills through hands-on client work, self-directed learning, and online courses. Saying yes to opportunities that felt scary at the time shaped both my confidence and my studio.

Today, with 7+ years of experience in design, I focus on close, collaborative partnerships where clients feel supported, understood, and genuinely involved in the creative process.

Q How do you stand out in your field?

I lead with strategy and clarity before anything visual happens. Every project begins with positioning, goals, and structure, so the creative decisions that follow are intentional and aligned, not decorative or trend-driven.

I keep my studio intentionally small and take on a limited number of clients, which allows for close collaboration, thoughtful feedback, and a process that feels focused rather than overwhelming.

Working primarily with women-led businesses also shapes my approach. I understand the realities of building a brand while managing a hundred moving parts, so I bring direction, efficiency, and steady creative partnership to the table.

Q What are you working on right now?

I’ve just wrapped up a brand identity for a talented makeup artist, with her website coming next. In parallel, I’m designing the brand and website for an esthetic studio opening in Seattle.

Q What’s your style?

Timeless foundations. Minimal structure. Intentional color. Strong layouts that carry the story. I design with restraint and purpose, focusing on composition, balance, and work that feels distinctive without chasing trends.

Q Out of all your slashies, which one do you wish you could do more often?

I’d love to work even more with women-led brands in the lifestyle, beauty, and fashion space, especially those building thoughtful, modern brands with strong visual identities.

Helping founders translate their vision into a cohesive brand and online presence is where I do my best work.

Q What is frustrating you right now?

Maintaining a strong online presence takes more time than it seems, and it’s often the first thing to slip when client work gets busy. I often wish I had more space to focus on passion projects and creative exploration alongside the day-to-day running of the studio.

Q If you could hire someone for $20/hour, what would you have them do to make your day easier?

I’d bring in support for all the small but time-consuming tasks, content scheduling, asset prep, file organization, inbox sorting, and backend updates.

Q What do you wish you could have told yourself, when, and why?

I’d tell my younger self to stop waiting for permission and take the leap sooner. Fear of the unknown kept me playing small and choosing safe paths, when exploration was exactly what helped me grow creatively and professionally.

Q If you could talk to an expert to gain more insight on something, what would it be about?

I’d want to learn more about building long-term, scalable revenue streams for creative businesses, balancing client work with products and passive income.

Q What kind of opportunities/projects are you looking for?

I’m looking to collaborate with women-led businesses and independent brands seeking thoughtful brand identities and strategic websites. Lifestyle, beauty, and fashion-forward projects where I can shape both brand and web are especially exciting. I also welcome ongoing retainer collaborations with brands that value consistent design support and a long-term creative partnership.

Q Describe your ideal job/client/collaboration.

I love working with women entrepreneurs who care deeply about what they’re building and want a creative partner, not just a service provider.

The most positive experiences come from close collaboration, clear communication, and shared excitement about the vision. When trust is there, the process feels smooth, focused, and genuinely energizing.

Q: What is your rate?

Brand identity projects start at $3,500. Custom websites begin at $5,000 on Squarespace and $6,500 on Shopify. I also offer flexible entry points through template customization and focused design intensives. Ongoing support is available via retainer partnerships and VIP Days, starting at $800/day.

Q How should someone approach you about working together?

The best way to reach me is through steph@sb-studio.co, my website, or Instagram. When reaching out, please share a bit about your business, your project goals, timeline, and an estimated budget range so I can assess fit. Visual references, inspiration links, or moodboards are always appreciated. Clear context upfront makes collaboration smoother and more meaningful.

Q Who is a creative you admire?

I highly recommend Rache from Squarestylist. After discovering her Squarespace classes, I felt genuinely confident expanding my services and integrating Squarespace more deeply into my business. Her teaching style is clear, thoughtful, and incredibly empowering, she has a real gift for making complex tools feel approachable. Pure gold.

Q Oh! and… how do you stay creative?

Stepping away from screens to let my brain breathe and ideas settle.
