Bonnie Clyde is looking for a Creative Community & Store Manager who wants to grow with us for years. This role is critical for creating an exceptional creative community centered around our DTLA store.

You will oversee all aspects of the store’s operations, focusing on driving sales, building strong customer relationships, and fostering a welcoming, creative community-driven atmosphere. You will lead and motivate the sales team, manage daily operations, and ensure the store meets profitability and cultural impact goals. This role requires a hands-on leader who can balance operational excellence with creative strategies to energize the store and grow its presence.

Our ideal candidate is well connected to the creative community in LA and even beyond, is a productive creative with a strong portfolio and high follower count socials, has management experience, is versed in owning business P&L, and is both highly personable and business savvy, finding themselves at ease in all kinds of environments – from singing BTS’ Dynamite at a genZ karaoke event to calculating ROI at a venture capital conference.

Full-time role starts with a 3-month trial period, during which your performance and suitability for the role will be evaluated for continued employment + raise opportunity from $50K/yr after successful completion.


COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Customer Engagement and Community Building:

  • Build and maintain a comprehensive customer profile system, including a VIP clientele list, to personalize follow-ups and enhance customer loyalty.

  • Foster a welcoming, creative community-driven atmosphere, ensuring customers feel connected to the brand and its creative ethos.

  • Develop specific language and key points to explain brand story, history, and ethos.

  • Create and execute in-store events and activations to attract new customers and retain existing ones.


Marketing and Event Planning:

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop brand-aligned content that builds awareness and drives traffic to the store.

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to plan, propose, and execute creative in-store events and partnerships.

  • Ensure events align with the brand’s identity and contribute to increased traffic and sales.


Sales and Profitability:

  • Take full ownership of the store’s financial performance, focusing on revenue growth, net profits, and achieving sales targets.

  • Track and analyze key metrics to develop and implement strategies that drive results.

  • Build and maintain systems to monitor and analyze store performance.

  • Use data insights to recommend and implement strategies for continuous improvement.


Team Leadership and Development:

  • Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing sales team, setting clear performance expectations and fostering a collaborative culture.

  • Provide consistent feedback, guidance, and support to ensure staff uphold brand standards and deliver exceptional customer experiences, coaching for career growth as well as performance management in compliance with employment laws.

  • Operational Oversight and System Building:

  • Establish and maintain robust operational systems, including inventory tracking, traffic counting, and sales conversion analysis.

  • Develop processes for customer interaction tracking, inventory audits, and efficient store workflows.

  • Manage daily store operations, including maintaining cleanliness, troubleshooting issues, and overseeing visual merchandising.


Communication and Team Coordination:

  • Act as the bridge between the store and the broader team, providing updates and ensuring alignment on goals and initiatives.

  • Proactively communicate store needs, such as promotional support or event coverage, to the marketing and content teams.

  • Occasionally assist with content creation, including capturing photos or videos of in-store activities for social media.

  • Store Presentation and Maintenance Management:

  • Ensure the store is consistently clean, organized, and visually appealing, with high standards for presentation.

  • Lead by example by tackling tasks directly when needed, fostering a culture of responsibility and accountability.

  • Work closely with the creative director to develop store team’s front-facing uniform.


QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Well connected to the creative community in LA required, and beyond LA would be a plus!

  • Active on all social media platforms - please include links to TikTok, IG, etc.!

  • Highly personable across demographics, with a demonstrated history of nurturing long-term relationships with continual outbound outreach versus just being great at inbound socializing

  • History of success with creative roles and/or personal projects (Is your personal music published on Spotify? Have you produced marketing campaigns for a major fashion brand? Please apply!)

  • Available to work Saturdays and Sundays

  • Ideally fluent in Japanese or another Asian language

  • Ideally an exceptional leader with management experience

  • Ideally numeric and rationale, easily analyzing financial statements, creating and tracking KPIs, and making metrics-based decisions

  • Prior experience in luxury retail (LVMH, Rodeo Drive boutiques, etc.) is a plus but not required as all eyewear product, customer support software (Gorgias), and point-of-sale software (Shopify) training is provided

Employment Type: Full-time salaried position starting with 3-month trial period

Work Schedule: 5 days a week x 8 hours each day including Saturdays and Sundays
