Gjusta Flower Shop is hiring a full-time Director responsible for managing the Gjusta Flower Shop team, directing day-to-day operations, booking + managing events and accounts, working closely with our Events and Catering department + Gjusta Good’s team and vendors.
Responsibilities include:
Write, manage, and supervise the Gjusta Flower Shop staff schedule, posted a minimum 2 weeks at a time
Ensure staff reports for duty on time and that they use the time clock to check in and out
Manage staff meal breaks in compliance with California Labor Law
Hold staff accountable by maintaining updated daily checklists and task delegation
Hold regular staff meetings
Hold regularly scheduled team appraisals and goal setting meetings
Know our regulars and encourage new guests to become regulars by establishing a rapport that includes the guests’ likes & dislikes
Understanding the Gjusta brand, vendors, seasonal stems and farm(ers) stories
Develop training and education materials for staff
Assist to fulfill daily orders for walk in, deliveries, wholesale, Gjelina Group, pre orders; as well as Holidays & events
Establish cost, wholesale, event & retail pricing
Submit all necessary invoices and receipts to GJ Accounting Dept. weekly
Work in tandem with other GJ Group properties on orders, product, and inventory requests / transfers
Work to create brand assets needed for development and outreach
Work in tandem with the Events department on offsite or onsite floral and rental needs
Work in conjunction with FFE & Development Coordinator to develop ceramic + linen rental lines
Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:
Ability to use the point of sale system and troubleshoot problems
Ability to prioritize work activities, provide accurate information and assistance to any colleagues’ request in a timely and courteous manner
Ability to keep calm when faced with any unusual situations
Ability to perform the essential functions of the job
Flexible schedule
Strong math skills

Organizational skills and attention to detail
Computer proficiency with PC and Mac
Comfortable working with distributors/vendors and clients
A good understanding on maintenance, shelf life, and flower/plant buys for Gjusta Flower Shop needs
Ability to work quickly and efficiently with vendors/distributors on orders and fulfillment

Physical Demands/Working Environment:
Able to walk, stand or seat for long periods of time (8 – 12 hours)
Must be able to move, pull, push, carry or lift of up to 50 pounds on occasion and 25 pounds regularly
Must be able to seize, grasp, turn and hold objects with hands regularly and in frequent or repetitive motions
Must be able to reach items at varying height levels (on shelves, on ground, etc.)
Occasionally kneel, bend, crouch and climb as required
Must be able to work in conditions of environmental exposure to cold, heat, and water
Able to work in a fast-paced environment
Salary range: 95k-135k depending on experience
