is looking for a Digital Graphic Designer

USA

Who Gives A Crap make eco-friendly products and donate 50% of our profits to help build toilets for the billions of people in need. We love doing good, and we happen to be exceptionally good at it too! To date, we’ve donated over $10 million AUD (roughly $7.4 million USD) to fund sanitation projects around the globe.

A bit about the role

As part of the customer journey, a paid social ad on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube or TikTok is often our first point of contact with new customers and we’re looking for the ultimate killer combination of creative-meets-analytical when it comes to making buzz-worthy and high-performing digital and motion graphics that increase our conversations and generates more conversions with our audience.

That means that the quality of our designed content needs to be delightful, consistent, and in tip-top shape. As our Digital Graphic Designer (Growth) you will lead the ideation and design of our non-video digital content assets, primarily across paid social ads (and the occasional print ad like direct mail and postcards). You’re also not too shabby with a camera and are able to art direct and shoot some light content creation like photos and GIFs. You’ll push us to always ensure the look and feel of our brand is united, recognizable and engaging across our digital channels.

Reporting to our Marketing Design Lead, you’ll work alongside a kick-butt Creative Team who aren’t afraid to put a fart button on an email. You’ll not only be the expert that knows our brand inside and out, but also the authority on what makes our social audience “tick.” As a strategic partner. you’ll collaborate closely with our Copy, Video and Growth Marketing teams in the ideation stages of new content. You’re able to take insight from the Growth team and expand on it, ensure that our customer sentiments are accounted for and create a clear concept for paid social. Oh and then, go forth and design it!

Our creative team spans between the USA and Australia but we’re hiring for this role in our US hub for anyone comfortable in a primarily virtual working environment. In all honesty, we truly don't care where you are in the world as long as you're up for dedicating yourself to PST.

If you worked here this past month here are some things you might have been involved in:

  • Brainstormed big-picture customer acquisition ideas with the Growth Marketing team for a new geographic expansion

  • Created some print assets for several exciting new brand partnerships

  • Taken an existing still ad concept and expanded it to five versions to test for the next quarter

  • Worked through some feedback with our Marketing Design Lead on your latest round of designs for Instagram paid social

  • Celebrated a team members’ birthday with the ultimate Drag Race trivia

  • Gave your feedback on a new brand look and feel - used your own design insights and work stream to test it out

  • Collaborated with the Video team to create some animated GIFs for a campaign

  • Did your own UCG style photoshoot with our latest Limited Edition

  • Brainstormed out-of-the-box ideas for merch with the rest of our Creative team

Let’s talk about you

You’re an experienced digital graphic designer who strives for far more than just making things look good. You want your design to work hard - not only for our Growth Marketing metrics, but also for the world. You’ve got lots of loves, but you have a sweet spot for typography, GIFs, and all of the usual social media formats. You’re also interested in making content from scratch with photography or putting your spin on UGC.

You are an ideas machine!

You’re naturally brimming with out-of-the-box content ideas, and you know you’re in your element when you get the chance to translate abstract ideas into visuals that engage and delight the audience. No idea goes too far or too big in your book, and you’re just as eager to throw ideas out on the table as you are keen to take on feedback for your ideas in order to create the most high-performing content possible.

You’re tuned into social trends and creative testing

Oh and probably even a few steps ahead of the rest of us when it comes to knowing what’s current, what’s cool, what’s working out in the design world. You’re all over the latest trends and you do not shy away from data and are constantly thinking about how you can test and iterate your own designs to capitalize on these trends in new and exciting ways.

You see the forest, and the trees

Rather than just thinking through the individual element you’re designing, you think about the entire experience it fits into. We go at a fast pace, so while we want to be proud of the work that goes out, it might not always be perfect. We prefer to get as many of our ideas into the world as possible, rather than perfecting a single idea.

You’ve got laser focus!

You’re highly organized and detail orientated - even in a fast-paced and largely remote environment - and are deeply self-driven. You’re super comfy working autonomously, yet also always ready to jump into brainstorms with your team and work cross-functionally as needed to inform your work.

You give a crap

Yep. We’re all here because we genuinely want to make the world a better place with our work, and we want you to want that too! Awwww.
