Restarting Client Projects
Hi Puno! Iâve been working with a client whose had a few personal issues come along that has delayed our project. Weâve had some contact intermittently to start it up again, but I havenât heard back since our last email. From your experience, how often should I reach out to a client on a project? I don't want to overload them, but it also feels weird not to reach out.
I would say email them once a week and then end with, âAlso, completely understand if you need some more time, but happy to be the one that gets these things moving⊠if itâs easier to jump on a quick call or screen share so we can go through everything together! Iâm excited to get this project started!â
Also, this is why I like to add their phone number in the contract. This way I can just call or text them. Sometimes, depending on my relationship, Iâll text âHey there, itâs Puno. I just sent you an email but just checking in to make sure everythingâs OK!â
I typically will reach out weekly and escalating things per week by using the Snooze feature in Gmail. Escalation could mean adding a final date and deliverable from the client. Below are a few example emails!
