WHAT DO YOU DO?

I am a freelance writer, prop stylist and creator of Allies of Mother Earth, a platform dedicated to showing some love to Mother Earth by organization cleanups / events, as well as fostering a community around eco-conscious living.

Now, the platform serves as a way to pay it forward and showcase the journey of remarkable women and non-binary folks as authentically as possible.

Outside of that, I am a freelance writer who currently writes for an array of publications.

WHAT STEPS DID YOU TAKE TO GET TO WHERE YOU ARE NOW?

Well, the first step I took was moving to Los Angeles over a year ago. Upon my arrival on the west coast, I accepted a position on impulse for Hello, Adventure LLC, a travel company with creatively curated workcations in the top destinations worldwide. I spent a few months in Indonesia helping founder, Sarah Moe, launch the company of her dreams and learning every aspect involved with a company in its infancy. After her company was up and running, I returned to the LA and accepted an internship with Sonja Rasula at Unique. During my time at Unique, I helped each branch with social media and bits of marketing and public relations. Additionally, I was the right-hand woman for the event producer of Unique LA.  Through those two companies, I have created a solid foundation for content creation and marketing/PR.

From there, I fell into a staff writing position for The Dieline for a year and a half, and freelance wrote articles for a handful of publications on the side – which I still do to date, although I am making a shift in the topics I like to focus on.

Through writing for The Dieline, I developed a love for product photography, and have since started dabbling in prop styling / art direction and set design.

FOR OTHER PEOPLE IN YOUR FIELD, WHAT DO THEY USUALLY LACK?

My biggest advice is to remain humble, work your ass off and stay kind.

WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON RIGHT NOW?

I am freelance writing, project managing / assisting on events and weddings, and prop styling / art directing.

I am also organizing clean-ups at the beach and parks around Los Angeles, events surrounding eco-friendly brands and companies, and highlighting eco-conscious individuals through Allies of Mother Earth.

WHAT'S YOUR STYLE/PERSPECTIVE/TASTE? DO YOU HAVE A PROJECT THAT REPRESENTS THIS?

My style for the most part is raw and authentic and it’s showcased in the writings on my personal blog, as well in the interviews conducted for my passion project. You view the work all of the work at cashadoemland.com.

WE ARE ALL SLASHIES WITH MULTIPLE SKILLS, WHICH ONE DO YOU WISH YOU COULD DO MORE OFTEN?

The love of my life has and always will be writing. I wish I could focus more of my energy on pushing my passion projects and traveling the world to fuel my creativity.

WHAT IS FRUSTRATING YOU RIGHT NOW?

I struggle with saying no to people. I will accept any gig anyone offers me as I am keen to learning new skills and working with a variety of creatives. Yet, by doing this I have a never ending list of work on my plate and my passion projects are pushed to the back burner.

IF YOU COULD HIRE SOMEONE FOR $20/HR, WHAT WOULD YOU HAVE THEM DO TO MAKE YOUR DAY EASIER?

Wow, that is a question I have yet to think about. I would love a right-hand individual to bounce ideas off of honestly. I would love someone to help me with the creation of a zine I aspire to produce one day. I would love help maintaining my blog and my inbox. So, basically little things here and there to help keep stress levels down.

LET'S BRING OUT THE TIME MACHINE. WHAT DO YOU WISH YOU COULD HAVE TOLD YOURSELF, WHEN, AND WHY?

It's never too late to start something new / allow yourself to take chances and to fail because this is the only way to grow and move forward.

IF YOU COULD TALK TO AN EXPERT TO GAIN MORE INSIGHT ON SOMETHING, WHAT WOULD IT BE ABOUT?

I'd love to learn from someone who's self-published a memoir / a book, as well as put on an art show as there is a big project coming up I could definitely use some insight on.

WHAT KIND OF OPPORTUNITIES/PROJECTS ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?

I am open to writing gigs about wellness, creativity, travel and raw vulnerability.

For prop styling, I'd love to work with an array of photographers with a focus on product.

Lastly, I'd love to collaborate with brands / individuals for clean-ups for Allies of Mother Earth!

DESCRIBE YOUR IDEAL JOB/CLIENT/COLLABORATION.

I thoroughly enjoy working with individuals who offer good vibes and groovy times. It's always great to work with someone who can help you grow and vice versa. Additionally, I love working with individuals who blow the doors of my mind wide open to new ideas and perspectives!

WHAT IS YOUR HOURLY RATE, RETAINER, OR SALARY RANGE?

The rate differs per project and I'm a little shy about money, so I will provide a bit of insight instead. When you're pondering what to charge a client, begin by looking at the deliverables. How much time, energy and resources are necessary to complete the project spectacularly? Additionally, keep in mind the budget you need to stay afloat and the amount of projects you can take on at once. All of these factors will create your rate per hour or for the project as a whole.

HOW SHOULD SOMEONE APPROACH YOU ABOUT WORKING TOGETHER?

Emails are the best mode of communication, so slide right into that inbox at casha@cashadoemland.com

HOW DO YOU STAY CREATIVE?

I stay curious. I stay lost.
