Charlotte Golzari
Q What steps did you take to get to where you are now?
At uni, I wanted to be a journalist, but it wasn't until a temp job at The Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity that made me realise I wanted to write ads. I worked both in-house and agencyside for a couple of years before going freelance to transition into the world of brand writing. Since then, I've collaborated for respected agencies like Koto, DesignStudio and Here Design.
Q How do you stand out in your field?
I have no niche - but for me, that's a flex. I don't believe in confining myself to one industry; I've written for fashion and fintech alike. To me, a great copywriter isn't defined by sticking to one industry but by the ability to adapt their voice across different brands and platforms. Flexibility, not limitation, is what sets you apart.
Q What are you working on right now?
Bringing magic and joy through words into NIO Cocktails' communications.
Q What’s your style?
I'd say my own passion project is closest to what I'd like to write. Fun and a little bit cheeky
Q Out of all your slashies, which one do you wish you could do more often?
I'd love to be given the opportunity to do some more big-thinking - the conceptual stuff.
Q What is frustrating you right now?
Self promo! I'm terrible at it, hence why I'm applying to ilovecreatives :)
Q If you could hire someone for $20/hour, what would you have them do to make your day easier?
...hype me up so I don't have to do it myself.
Q What do you wish you could have told yourself, when, and why?
You don't have to peak at a certain age. What's so great about this craft in particular is that it's one that allows you to grow and get better as each year goes by. So essentially - be patient!
Q If you could talk to an expert to gain more insight on something, what would it be about?
I'd love to develop my strategy skills.
Q What kind of opportunities/projects are you looking for?
I'm a branding girlie to my core, but I'm open to anything really. I'd love to step back into fashion and beauty.
Q Describe your ideal job/client/collaboration.
My ideal client has and will always be Reformation, and not just because I love their clothes. I genuinely look forward to their emails - they're doing it so right. In terms of a positive past experience, I worked with a former colleague on a florists' website. She was respectful of my time, gave a great brief and paid on time. It helps that we had camaraderie from when we used to work together.
Q: What is your rate?
My day rate is £350/£46 an hour.
Q How should someone approach you about working together?
