Q What do you do?

I run Bluum, a boutique digital marketing agency that supports impact-driven brands seeking to hone their consistent marketing strategy, leverage email automation to increase sales that sustain, and harness storytelling through intentional email campaigns that turn passive subscribers into brand advocates.

Our ultimate goal is to co-create a flourishing marketing ecosystem that allows our clients to truly embody the same “slowness” they’ve built into the groundwork of their slow business models.

Q What steps did you take to get to where you are now?

Bluum was born as a medium through which I could try and influence positive individual/collective behavior change and do less harm in an industry that has largely sacrificed our collective social and environmental wellbeing for the sake of profit. The process involved a lot of saying ‘yes’ (which I am now trying to unlearn!), getting comfortable with uncomfort, trusting in the self, and taking aligned action.

Q How do you stand out in your field?

We offer large-scale agency value through hyper-personal, end-to-end campaign support with proven results and near 100% retention, combined with the depth and brand understanding of an in-house team—a force of nature only made possible when working in deep value-alignment through an intersectional lens.

Q What are you working on right now?

We’re currently working on simplifying and refining our craft for even greater impact. This looks a lot like slowing down, obsessing over quality, creating space for play, and pouring into new/existing client relationships.

Q What’s your style?

My style is a slow-evolving product of nature! I naturally gravitate to organic shapes and textures, and find inspiration in rugged imperfection. Think Wabi Sabi meets Pacific Northwest meets Vintage-Inspired/Mid-Century Modern.

Q Out of all your slashies, which one do you wish you could do more often?

Working with my hands, shaping ceramics, or getting dirty in the garden—anything to balance the digital creation process with the material creation process! My ultimate dream is to open a creative concept space to run my business, feature curated handmade/found/client goods, and host connective community events that inspire positive, collective transformation.

Q What is frustrating you right now?

Getting caught in the weeds of daily fulfillment and communication management which prevents me from tending to the seeds of our longer-term vision.

Q If you could hire someone for $20/hour, what would you have them do to make your day easier?

Support with all the admin tasks I avoid : )

Q What do you wish you could have told yourself, when, and why?

Going slow is the fastest way to get to where you need to be. Saying ‘no’ sends a powerful sign to the universe that you’re open to new opportunities that are far more aligned and enriching than you’ve ever imagined.

Q If you could talk to an expert to gain more insight on something, what would it be about?

Ecology! I love drawing parallels between marketing and the natural world to unlock perspectives and inspire regeneration, resilience, and creativity within the context of our broader business/social ecosystems.

Q What kind of opportunities/projects are you looking for?

I’d love to collaborate with an intentional brand seeking to outsource their email marketing to a dedicated, value-aligned partner on a monthly retainer basis.

Q Describe your ideal job/client/collaboration.

Our most aligned client embodies values of sustainability and social impact, and naturally experiences organic success. They strive to cultivate personal customer experiences rooted in authenticity, intentionality and radical honesty. They’re hoping to deep dive into their marketing channels to unearth the biggest opportunities for sustainable business growth, send consistent, personalized email campaigns that convert, and realign their automations with their ideal customer lifetime journey and broader brand strategy—all while expanding their mission.

Q: What is your rate?

Strategic consulting packages start at $1200 and scale based on the depth of analysis and final scope of work. Monthly email marketing retainers range between $1200-$5000 per month depending on volume of campaign sends, development ownership, etc.

Q How should someone approach you about working together?

Feel free to email me directly at madison@bluummarketing.com or shoot me a DM @bluummarketing. Additional information regarding dreams/goals, budget, timeline, and project specifics are always welcome! P.S. I’m a huge fan of voice memos.

Q Who is a creative you admire?

Rachel Saunders—I admire how she’s constantly surrendering herself to a new way of creating/being and resonate with her devotion to self-inquiry, travel, vulnerability and play.

Ellen Catlin—A BEYOND talented strategist/brand designer and empathetic, embodied leader who’s constantly expanding the bounds of what it means to be a woman creative business owner in a patriarchal/capitalist landscape.

of Range Revolution/Casad Family farms/Havstad Hat Co.—Cate is a huge expander for me and is working to revolutionize the intersection of design, business and sustainability (also my dearest passions). She balances financial prosperity with real systemic impact and is driven by a deep reverence for the land.

Q Oh! and… how do you stay creative?

Simple things like time in nature, stillness, space balanced with a good dose of novelty and connection (experiencing new cultures, new people/ideas, etc.).
