Converting Prospects to Paying Clients
In Level 4, we talk about how to respond to potential clients, but sometimes the project doesn’t always lock in right away. Here are a few suggestions on what to do to prevent getting ghosted or feeling like you’re being annoying.
Always include a CTA (with a date) and Follow Up
Often times, you lose clients because they… got busy and just didn’t follow through. That’s why they needed to hire you! Don’t feel like you’re being annoying, just be persistently nice :)
This is our cadence:
When you send the proposal, specify a date that the proposal is available.
Hi X,
Hope you both are well! We are super excited about the opportunity to help build X. Here is our project proposal. We'd be happy to hop on a call to discuss further if you'd like! In order to deliver these phases by X, we would need to lock in the proposal, contract, and initial deposit by X.
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and let me know if you have any questions at all!
Add a calendar reminder or snooze in Gmail so that you follow-up on the date the contract is due! If they don’t follow-up, then you can say:
Hi X,
Kindly following up to see how things are going on your end.
We've got a few projects that are lining up, but want to prioritize X if you decide to move forward. We can definitely move things around to accommodate, but it would be super helpful to know if you'll be making a decision by this Friday.
And as always, happy to jump on a call to discuss anything that might help make your decision.
Lost Leads
One question that always makes you wonder is… Why did we lose a potential client? Welp, you can just straight up ask!
Hi X,
Thanks so much for giving us the opportunity to create a proposal with you!
I was curious, what was the reason for moving in another direction? No offense will be taken, just good learnings for the future!
