Portfolio Websites We Love

Portfolio Sites We Love

In our recent article, “How Do I Land a Creative Job,” we emphasized how crucial it is to have a well-rounded portfolio when putting yourself out there. Think of it like a personal gallery for your creative projects: your very own home base where visitors (ie. potential clients, employers, colleagues, etc.) can learn more about you and explore the best you have to offer.

And hey, your portfolio doesn’t have to be “perfect” (News flash: there’s no such thing!). As you grow and evolve in your creative practice, so will your portfolio! And portfolios don’t necessarily have to be websites. They can be PDFs, social media pages, blogs, and even printed books — whatever feels achievable and aligned for you at this point in time is amazing.

Buuut, that doesn’t mean that it wouldn’t be extra dope to have a job-ready portfolio to help tell your story as a hireable creative! Some advantages to having a portfolio on a web platform include (and aren’t limited to):

➀ Providing an immersive visual experience (hosting high-quality photos, videos, gifs, etc.)
➁ Increasing the accessibility and shareability of your work via the Internet
➂ The ability to optimize search engines to boost your visibility (SEO, baby)
➃ Establishing a cohesive personal brand
➄ Neat presentation of links and contact forms (makin’ it super easy for people to book your services)

So, if you’re thinking about doing a portfolio refresh soon or are in the early stages of building your very first digital home, we’ve got just the curated inspo for ya. In this round-up, we’re featuring 10 strong portfolio websites that will definitely get your lightbulbs going. Each site serves the needs and visual brand of the respective creatives. As you browse the sites and read why we love them, make note of the aesthetic experience you’re hoping to create in your own portfolio 📝
