The thing I've enjoyed the most is the amount of resources/helpful sites that give me inspiration + the collaborative nature of this course — classmates encouraging and supporting each other! My favorite thing about the course is how readily available the teachers and staff are to lend a hand or assist with the design process, especially when it comes to specific software questions!

I really had no idea where to start and felt overwhelmed, but the course has made it so easy and fun, and has given me the confidence to go off and expand on my skills. My favourite thing about the experience would have to be creating spec work and having feedback from Mindy and Sarah. Being able to implement everything I've learned in the course to create a 'real-life' brand identity has been so fun and the supportive feedback from Mindy and Sarah has been amazing. I'm still working my way through it, but I am really loving the workbook and worksheets. I also like that each lesson is short and focused on a small task to complete. You really get to see how each lesson builds onto the previous one and it helps keep the momentum going to complete the course.

Having someone be able to take a look at your work and offer advice or solutions when you're creatively stuck or just can't figure out the code was great. This isn't some static, work-on-your-own kind of course, it's a whole community of creatives.

I wanted to take the course to learn from other designers and their processes and also how to go freelance. I've been really enjoying the lessons and resources we get with the course. I think my favourite thing is being able to context with people but also those who are running the course. The TAs are so cool, kind, and super supportive that makes the experience more enjoyable and less intimidating to an introvert like me.

For me, Finance Friends Forever is thorough, accessible and contains LOTS of information about all aspects of financial literacy. It contains definitions and terminology so you can build foundations. But, it also contains real life examples that are discussed at length, giving insight and a dose of reality to money talks - which can be scary and easier to ignore than dive into.

I enjoyed being able to go through a journey together understanding our own individual creative process with the guidance of Rachel and Puno. I learned so much of myself as well as pushing myself creatively and creating content in a more visceral way. I think the best part for me was hearing Rachel's insight on her creative process and watching how she creates art in the form of a video.

I've taken (and abandoned) more online courses than I care to admit. And hands down, the Squarespace Design Course has been my favorite online course of all time.
Siri, play "I can see clearly now" by Johnny Nash. After working with the Do the Math spreadsheet, I have a feeling as though someone turned up the iso in my life and I can see all my finances and time management habits in a new light. All those hard-hitting questions you ask yourself when becoming a freelancer like what should my hourly be, or how much should I charge for my work, can all be answered by simply plugging in your info. It really will just do all the dirty work for ya making it very user-friendly! This spreadsheet is staying in my favorites tab FOREVER!

I had put off my Level 3 for a few months because I’ve been busy with a bit of other design work and jumped into last week’s session to get back on board. WELL.. I’ve been SO motivated since then: the Pomodoro tracker has been out, Harvest is open, and I’ve gotten through half of 3.1 using snippets of time each night and going back over the work the next morning to make sure it’s all correct. I only wish I could make it every week. I highly recommend it if you need some motivation, or to reintroduce a little bit of structure to get you moving.

Starting freelancing, I knew most of my potential clients couldn't afford my services AND a developer, so I wanted to figure out how I could serve that market. I also wanted a portfolio site I actually liked. I'd tried and failed to hack Squarespace on my own before. The go-at-your-own-pace, enticed by milestones, surrounded by community structure of the ilovecreative's course was the perfect way to get going. I was able to put my learnings to use before I even finished the course! It helped me think a lot more critically about UX/UI in my work. And, the resources and Slack channels alone are worth the cost.

Puno’s editing section was clear, to the point, and very entertaining. The last section on freelancing answered so many questions I had for years. Overall this course was super beneficial for me so I highly recommend it. I’ve honestly learned more useful skills in this class than I have in most of my college courses.
