Why is this course better than other digital marketing courses?
This course is focused on teaching you the most effective digital marketing strategies (so that you don’t have to sift through every platform and tool figuring it out yourself), but it also walks you through how to effectively present your ideas, your findings, and your impact to clients and employers. Most courses out there are either too high level (Ex. “This is Facebook — Facebook is a platform to connect people all over the world” ok yes thank you I haven’t been living under a ROCK.) or they are narrowed in on one platform (uncovering the deep dark holes of Meta Ads that realistically are just a distraction from what really works best). This course is streamlined for success.
Should I take this or a platform specific (Meta Ads, Google Ads, TikTok Ads, etc.) course?
If you want to deep dive into one specific platform this could set you up for a career path at a very large company that hires people to run specific platforms, but you’ll also find that this pigeonholes you and caps your career growth path. By taking this course and understanding the fundamentals of the core platforms across the digital marketing funnel and then also how to analyze data and present to clients or employers you are setting yourself up for a much wider career path and one that could ultimately put you into a Digital Director or Marketing Director position.
Claire Preston said, ❝I really enjoyed learning about the overarching marketing funnel. This concept helped me connect the psychological dots of the consumer's voyage. I think it is very valuable to understand different techniques for each phase in a holistic way. I also find tools like the meta ads library and really good emails very useful.❞
I’m a business owner, is this course right for me?
Yes! Particularly if you have a small business and you’re wearing many hats including overseeing / running much of the marketing operations. This course is great for business owners who already have so much to think about because it focuses on the tried and true digital marketing practices, so you can skip the trial and error period and save yourself from making a lot of mistakes. We also touch on a few ways to automate your digital marketing (email marketing, reporting) and automation means more time for you to spend on running the businesses. If you are on the early stages of ideating and creating a business you will also love our “digital snooping” section which teaches you the best techniques for understanding the competition so you can best identify how to stand out in all the digital noise.
I don't have any digital marketing experience, is that OK?
Do you have an Instagram account? A Facebook page? Then yes you HAVE done digital marketing. You likely spend time scrolling through social feeds… have you ever GOOGLED something? You might be unaware of it, but you’ve been participating in and engrossed in digital marketing for years now. This course just flips your position and puts you on the other side — the side pulling all the strings. This course is great for anyone who has any experience with social media, has dabbled a little with spreadsheets, and has an interest in understanding the inner workings of digital marketing.
Chelsea Nicholson said, ❝Ceilidh is an incredible and super experienced instructor, getting insight into her way of working is invaluable. You can take this course with any level of experience; it’s perfect for anyone who’s never opened Google Analytics to someone who works as a digital marketer. It was great to review the foundation pieces and then get granular, insightful info and instructions from someone who’s worked with many high level brands.❞
What tools will I learn in this course?
We covered the essential digital marketing tool kit, which includes: GA4 (Google Analytics), Looker Studio (Reporting), Google Ads, Meta Ads, TikTok Ads, and Klaviyo (email marketing). Not only are we giving you the basic training on each of these platforms, but we’re also arming you with the terminology, reporting templates, presentation templates, and more to give you the confidence to WOW your employer or client.
Charlotte Giuffrida said, ❝Completing this course has given me the practical knowledge I was seeking, and I now feel more confident in my abilities and what I can contribute as a digital marketer. I feel like I gained the most personal insight during the Digital Audit section of the course. It helped me better understand the process and revealed how I can effectively assess and enhance the digital presence of the brand I work for, as well as potential future clients.❞
Can I become a full-time freelancer after this course?
If this is your first foray into freelance than we recommend the transition method — keep your full time job and take on your first trial client (maybe it’s a family member or friend) to test our your new skills and build a case study. Once you’ve got a few clients under retainer and you feel comfortable then take that leap into full-time freelancer! This course is designed to give you a wide range of skills for locking in long-term retainers, but it also provides you with presentation decks, and one-off projects to WOW clients.
I don’t want to freelance, is this still right for me?
Absolutely! Most of what I learned and pass along in this course was taken from working full-time for an employer. This course makes you an essential hire and positions you for a steady raise and promotion path.
Do you go over the full client process in the course?
Yes! We’ll talk you through what to ask in those initial discovery calls, what kind of services to offer, how to price it, how to present kick-ass digital marketing strategies and how to lock in those retainers.
I’m worried about finding my first clients.
Finding those first clients can be daunting… but guess what?! Almost every business today requires some form of digital marketing and there are very few people who are skilled in a range of digital marketing tools (what we’re offering in this course), so that leaves you with a very big opportunity in the freelancing market. Mom has a small business? Cousin has a startup? Friend is a budding realtor? Chances are you know someone who has a business or a service that needs digital marketing and this can be the best place to start.
How is the course structured and what’s the schedule?
The course is entirely online and completely self-paced. There aren’t any set class times, so you can watch the lesson videos and work on your assignments on any schedule that’s convenient for you — it’s designed to be a really flexible learning experience. The course should take you about 6 weeks to complete, if you work on it a few hours each week.
When the course starts, you’ll get an account on our course portal, where you’ll find all the course content (videos, templates) and track your progress. You’ll also get access to our Discord server, where you can chat with other students taking the course, join live workshops, and ask Ceilidh questions in office hours.
Katie Holian said, ❝The format of the class is one my favorite things. ilovecreatives crushes e-learning so hard that it doesn't feel like e-learning. Being a visual learner I loved getting walked through the nitty gritty. I would never have learned 5% of what I did in this class if I tried to absorb it through blogs/forums or even a traditional class.❞
